Weather is getting more than sickening already.

For a farm our size this harvest is dragging on way too long from the time we started. I can't imagine what others are going through is areas that are way further behind than we are. I would like to see the light at the end of the tunnel already. But you have to wonder what is coming in the next week with hurricane Rosa about to hit the lower west coast of North America and from what I can see the start of another low pressure center turning counter clockwise further north off the west coast.

We arent that big either but have got very little done. Got the durum in before this all started but canola in swath for a month now, flax still standing there. Depressing to say the least.

We need a hurricane or something to stir up the atmosphere to get that blocking west coast high to move on and let the jet stream flatten out again.

I have 5000 acres to go not stressed yet or worried. Most is canola and we will get most of it I feel. Ask me again the last week of October.

It’s canada and Mother Nature is a bitch.

Again toughest spot to farm in the world.

            It’s you against the weather.

It is a slower grind, but September often can be around here.
Soy is coming off the last couple of days.

Snowed this morning just as the sun was coming up... grain was testing 18.5-19 last night.

Some guys around here have been sitting since the 8th.

Only 4 days of temperatures above 70 this month. 11 days with highs below 50, with today and tomorrow added in that'll make 13 days for the month. Less than a handful of days where the sun was visible.

No break in the pattern till the middle of October? Who trusts anything 2-3 weeks out?

                Disgusting!

I wish I had a basement so I couldn't pace from window to window uttering obscenities when I look outside.

Why only Canada? How could the COLD know where US border is? That would be COLD for November!
And remember our snow started melting Apr 20 this year, less than 5 months were warm/hot like global warming. We better pay the TAX, climate is ONLY changing here!

I remember 2009.... was combining dry flax in November and very warm....

Didn't think we would finish that year either.....
