Later as in I had to get going and jump on some more canola to get it through the drier. Stuff flows so nice its hard to believe it's damp.

First order of the day is to make sure you don't burn down your drier or burn up your bin!
I'm looking for more small gains next week. Beans may be powering out. CAD rising and farmers wanting to market damp tough and barely dry canola should keep a lid on any canola moves higher. Not a seller right now. May move a bit if 11.25 pre year end appears. Very close at the plant now(11.10).

Yes 101 , thanks for your marketing insight ðŸ‘.
I am just trying to put one foot in front of the other right now. Have not looked at markets for a while.
Between breakdowns , delays , snow , rain , frost , family issues.. it’s hard enough just to try to keep focused on getting what we can off in such limited time frames .... so your posts are very much appreciated 101.
Ohh and have not had a hot shower in 5 days, hot water heater went and local plumber that installed the system is a fukin joke. Nothing like freezing to death all day then having to have a cold shower at mid night 🙄.

Regarding marketing. Best not to put too much store in what anyone says or thinks especially me. Just one person's view. Do what's best for you and your business.

Oh by the way if you are using propane to dry order early and order often. Propane infrastructure was never intended to meet this kind of demand.

Good discussion about current weather and the canola market. Also recently read a market commentary that said the canola market was effectively ignoring the weather - lots on Agriville saying this too.
IMO, the market is doing exactly what it should, given the circumstances.
What's interesting to me is that there is not much talk about basis or spreads.
You guys inspired me to write some detailed thoughts on current weather's market impact on canola.
- deliveries way behind where we need to be
- 20+ vessels waiting for (mostly) canola
- futures not taking off
- basis is flat to even weaker (and be careful - country basis will never go to +50 under any circumstances)
- spreads firming up but not unusual
- where do we go from here and when
Happy to give free copies of this report (latest of my weekly reports)
Just drop me a line at john@depape.ca

So in summary pretty much wipe the ass s with those charts because a major shutdown to canola crushing is right around the corner and nit even so called experts want to say canola will go up.
If s nothing about supply and demand it's about manipulating us right down to the last bushel we have.

It's ****en easy....canola bin doors don't open here unless the price starts with a twelve....now is that $12.01 or $12.99? Depending how fast it approaches 12 will depend on where my "moving target" settles. Ya that's right, my moving target....the kind the merchants find hard to manage.
