Ya but out east can't have exemption for oil because there already is human waste flowing in the water.

      Farma

Don't quote me FF, BUT the Ag Stab trigger has changed back to something more realistic of actually being able to collect benefits.

Dropped out immediately after The Ostrich farmer gutted Ag Stab!

Are you telling me that the Liberals have amended Ag Stab? IF that's the case it's sure been quite on Agriville. I'll never go back regardless!

"All the Stabilization should be dumped into crop insurance"

What makes you an expert on which AG safety net program is best suited for each individual farming enterprise? Why can't they all have function simultaneously as they were set up to do?

Oh shit I forgot you would go along with what ever your beloved Harper and Ritz have done, regardless if it was good for your own farm or not.

      Ideology is so powerful!

Because I have been through the iterations of ag stability when it was CASE and whatever before that and the hoops my accountant had to jump through just to get a measly payment out of those programs is a joke. Crop insurance is a known quantity. It has paid me instantly when there were disasters. Its the only program that works even if imperfect.

And crop insurance can be tailored to each operation quite a bit now.

And I said this before, if there is ever an ad hoc payment, its going to be done through crop insurance so it entices everyone to be part of the program. Thats the only safety net we are going to get. This dream of bailouts from the feds is just that - a dream. We have no voting clout even when conservatives are in power.

Jazz our premium to have crop insurance at 70% is about 14% so for 200 dollars cost is about 28 dollar that is not doable I just want insurance just for disasters.

Thank you to Harper for gutting Agri Stability that would cover lentil growers for drastic price drops. Tit!

It's no wonder Ritz had such an affinity for ostriches. Birds and their small brains, kinda like kindred spirits.

I know Gerry personally but thank you for gutting the PFRA pasture system. Sure it had its problems but where else could a smaller cattle operation or young upstart could get a chance at some decent managed grass. Sure some abused the allotments but that could’ve been fixed if the rules were applied. As far as ag programs being gutted. I’m quite ignorant to that. Mixed operation the CAIS didn’t do anything for me. I’m more pissed about public breeding being castrated and selling out with upov91. I don’t want to be looking for handouts but don’t take my freedom away. Isn’t that what most of us want? Sorry for the rant.

Wouldn’t it be fine to have to old Agri Stability cover the severe drop in lentil prices that we are seeing today? I worked there and saw the changes over the years. It would be some compensation for having the useless board who won’t stand up for us and a PM who goes and prances in applause for the buggars who are stiffing us.

Thank you for showing that the durum market is now based on a 5cwad or better... next time 5cwad is worth 6 bucks I am taking it.

Thank you for another snow overnight to reevaluate my patience....

Thank you CBC for spending more time on US news than Canadian anything ....spent the last few days channel surfing ...TV is really shitty.

Thank you to any news organization for not covering agriculture's pending 11 billion disaster...in depth...

Thank you to the elevators that charge drying but don't have a dryer or haven't started it in their facility ...

Thank you to the facilities that help paper blend to dry at no cost ...big thumbs up to them....if they can't justify having a dryer....there is a good chance most of the local farmers can't either...no sarcasm in this one ...this is a genuine thank you...

Another thank you to Manitoba for shitcanning the carbon tax...

Thank you to the markets for not recognizing the frost in Australia....

Thank you Trudeau for showing you support criminals not the victims of crimes. Wouldn't even stand and vote....

Thank you Goodale for being a lapdog your entire political career.

Those two things should keep either one from being re elected. Sadly they get a pension for being the way they are.
Not a wasted word in this post!

Hope someone is watching as this one should go viral.

One of those high priced years would be lost in the Olympic average calculation. The program may not been as lucrative as you think. And considering it is "whole farm" averages....once again may have taken the shine off those high lentil prices. But I missed those lentil years so can't say how it would have affected the margin calculation and potential payout now. Maybe if the whole farm was seeded to lentils then....
