      What you're looking for is called a "fertilizer swap future". I don't pretend to understand how they work but this fact sheet purports to explain them:

        According to this study Swaps don't cover a guy very well if they are not in the New Orleans marketing area and the price moves quickly back home.
        Longer term they may have some value.
        I have no idea....
