100 acres barley left. Hope to get done tonight. Neighbour came over with his machine and helping out. Crops running out. Hard to keep up by yourself and haul 7 miles with 2 tandems. Not used to it but good problem to have. Swathed wheat dry and appears to not be as bad as I imagined. Canola was good. Barley sprouted but will make turds. Elevator didn’t want the sprouted stuff but feedlot didn’t care. The “feed†barley is feeding something more than livestock. Otherwise my stress is coming down in time to work cattle and do some fall tillage. I’d like to thank the great creator and my aboriginal friends for the late summer we have gotten.

We are now down to 11 quarters to go.
Deere brought me out an S780 to Demo and it has some interesting features that actually work well.
Trying to see if should go with S780 or Stay with S790 power level.
Also today the New Case 9250 arrives should be interesting.
We have 11 quarters left. That last 6 inches of wet snow and 1/2 inch rain really screwed up things in our area. But I guess its moisture for next years crop. Fall work is not getting done.

Have rode in a Lexion 740 with a 40 foot header at 6.5 mph on a 55 bpa wheat crop at 17 moisture this fall....nothing out the back and no where near the fuel a deere uses...
In cab again on few flax runs ....it gobbles crop...engine runs at a lower rpm as well...sensors for crop loading are at the feeder house with better reaction time.

I would like to build a CASE DEERE LEX and you would have a machine that would last for years.
Depends how the demo was set up...from what I have seen Lexions are phenomenal machines...compared to a deere...although I am using 10 year old deeres ...so wtf do I know...
Demos don't come here because I don't trade often enough..I have never managed to wreck or wear out a combine in 250 hours.

This flat wheat is a time killer. Still mud under crop mat. Very slow with header or swather , lots of downtime and repairs daily .
Bright side, soybeans cutting fairly well, at least the little sun and wind has firmed up the ground ok for header to work reasonably well .
But still very odd things it seems every day costing valuable time ....
Just one example, not sure what it is , maybe old wheel spoke ?? But the knife drive did not like it on header I know .
Anyway I am sure there are going to be lots of ‘wtf’s’ this year for everyone dealing with flat crops and mud
Good luck to those struggling in area .... it’s not fun at all . But at least weather is ok now for a few more days .
