Obama did not write the book on executive orders. In fact, Trump is already outpacing Obama in signing executive orders. Obama signed 276 executive orders in his 8 years or an average of 34.6 ex. orders per year. In 1.79 years, Trump has signed 86 ex. orders or 48 ex. orders per year. Even more interesting is you have to go al the way back to Glover Cleveland in the 1890s to find a president who has signed fewer executive orders than Obama.

If you want to smear Obama, at least use false insinuations which are not so easily fact checked.

One of the items voted on last night was a carbon tax on the left coast in Washington state.
For the third time the carbon tax referendum failed and was shot down by voters.

Interesting how our delusional Liberal government is pushing this failed idea.

* Executive Order 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
* Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
* Executive Order 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals.
* Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
* Executive Order 11001 allows the government to take over all health education and welfare functions.

Certainly much more intrusive in the lives of Americans that anything Trump has passed.

How intrusive was Democrat FDR's executive order, to confiscate all the gold from American citizens in the 1930's or to order internment of all Japanese-Americans during the 1940's


Trump may have statistically signed more e-orders, but as everyone can see,,,not all executive orders carry the same weight in affecting the lives of Americans.

Hey Beaverdam, those were NOT Obama ex. orders! All 5 were orders of JFK back in 1962, at the height of the cold war and the Cuba missile crisis. And all of them would only take effect in the case of a declared National Emergency. These orders were also reapproved with changes under other presidents including Republican Nixon, and Dem Carter and Clinton.

My argument was not about what it is in executive orders, it was Ache4Acres portraying Obama as the president who abused executive orders when in fact he signed fewer than any other presidents since the 1890s.

As for your argument that Obamas were worse than Trumps, at least use actual signings by Obama to make your case instead or orders from 50 years ago.

And I will point out, that orders Trump signed are equally intrusive on people's lives as other presidents executive orders. Such as banning of immigrants from 6 Muslim countries (but not from Saudi Arabia, where there 9/11 terrorists came from). Or his signing of the order revoking the Federal Contractors Order which actually now allows federal contractors to discriminate on sexual orientation. Or how about 13841 banning family separations. While it sounds good, "It also instructs the Justice Department to attempt to overturn the Flores Agreement, which limited the time for holding children and families with children to 20 days, allowing children to be detained indefinitely.[256] The order directs other agencies, including the Pentagon to create or procure spaces to house the family units, however the family unit will not be maintained if there is fear for the child's welfare.[257]" according to Wikipedia.
