Got pulled over for speeding once, on I90. Basically got instructions from the loudspeaker on the troopers car telling me to get out and put my hands on the hood. And this was before 9/11

For an ambitious 25 year old, I would definitely tell them to head south. The future will not be made in Canuckistan. You never meet anyone who is accomplished here. Every wealthy person you meet got that way as a result of a government scam: Supply managed farmer, real estate speculator, (takes central bank money printing to make that work, something we have a tradition of since the early 70's) or senior government bureaucrat that had feathered their own nest. So that is the tradition here for the last 40 years: it has all been about growing government. We have natural disadvantages too including a crappy climate and long distances between inhabited areas. So for many of us there is no future here.

Reality for most. Real estate inflation has been a significant factor for me as well. Actual production farming and trying innovate and so something different production wise has not been rewarding mainly due to unbelievable bad weather. This year it couldn't rain during the production season but it sure could snow at harvest. Unbelievable. As a result harvest of a modest crop is not done yet.
