Chicago soybeans jumped on Monday to their highest in almost six months, rising more than US17 cents/bu after Washington and Beijing agreed on a 90-day truce that will permit talks to end a festering trade war that has roiled commodities markets.

Canola moves a penny.

Again we really mean nothing in the world.

A sharp drop in EU ****seed area due to drought could keep production of the oilseed in 2019 close to a disappointing volume harvested this year, said consultancy Strategie Grains.

You would think this could be good news for Canola.

Canada Waiting for Indian Report in Ongoing Pulse Dispute
The federal agriculture department says it’s still waiting for a report from the Indian government as it tries to resolve an ongoing dispute over pest treatments for pulses.
Agriculture Canada’s deputy minister, Chris Forbes, told the House agriculture committee on Thursday that Canada had a visit from a delegation of Indian officials earlier this fall, the outcome of which isn’t yet known, he said.
“We’re trying. We’re ready on our side. We’re working on it,” he said in French in response to a question from Conservative agriculture critic Luc Berthold.
Berthold wanted to know whether Forbes thought Canada and India would resolve the longstanding fumigation issues by the end of the year, as promised.

How many had thoughts of making canola contracts this morning with this “great” news?
Soy oil up over a third of a cent, crude up almost $2 barrel, and canola up basically unchanged. Now there’s something to get excited about on a Monday morning. Oh right its Dec it’s the holiday season, trade will be thin from now till the new year.
