I heard the cbc show , too and a lot of silly opinions , came out.
My view was they would regret those ideas.
If you listened to the end , the experts thought they were silly too.

I equate world population to the number of cats on the farm.
You can have half a dozen , no problem, everybody eats , gets along,
    Lots of mice to eat.etc.
    Make that number 20-30 ,
    All hell breaks lose.
    Starvation , fighting ,disease.

    We barely replace ourselves here.

Just have to give the developing and third world good reasons not to have as many children

How about offering them the opportunity for prosperity, such as the one our ancestors had thanks to cheap reliable energy, instead of relying on human and animal power.

Chuck chuck and other earth muffins.....if you want to depopulate the earth and save the polar bears I have a idea. Introduce a few of them cuddly coke slurping polar bears to places like Vancouver Toronto LA and let them feast on socialists. It’s a win win.

Yourself and UpChuck are apparently farmers or so you say and as such are obviously suffering affluenza if you have more than 1 quarter of land and a house , here's an idea for you since you don't really need all that land to survive you can donate all the rest of your holdings to migrant families that just want a chance to work hard and be apart of the affluent world. It has to start somewhere , show us what being true humanitarians are all about. You could even provide power for them with your solar panels and windmills just so they don't have too much trouble adjusting to their new homestead .

Well when you watched the recent George Bush (41) funeral did you catch any of the views of the family picture portraits.

Only the Former President Bush (41) offspring in the picture and it took a fairly wide angle lens to get them in one frame.

Now that shows the power of adding to the worlds population.

Start with two people and by the time the great great grandfathers are in the grave and you have how many times as many relatives???????

More power to any broadcasting company who has the courage to report this problem of getting too many people on the planet. Surely there are no deniers that this puts additional stress on what the world can stand.

But I'm not so sure all the ones calling for decreased CO2 footprints are doing all the right things in their crusade.

Some of our extra resource use is due to our northern climate. But the US is not all northern.

Developed countries use more resources per capita because they have the economic power to do so. There is a lot of unnecessary waste in the developed countries.

We live in a consumer culture where we buy a lot of crap we don't need.
Hmm?...sounds like crap envy to me ChuckChuck
