I think you are wrong to speculate that the riots in France are anything to do with a UN agenda or carbon tax increases. It's a way of life in France - check their history and you'll see there has been a riot a year over the last decade with different causes every time. They used to regularly set fire to trucks hauling British lamb through Calais any time there was a downturn in French sheep prices.
These riots or acts of mass disobedience are a feature of most countries - Britain had many as has the US often with a racial catalyst but there is a whole segment of the population just waiting for the chance to loot, set fire to stuff and attack authority. This will pass in France as it has done before - and i'm pretty sure it's not going to spread to the prairies where the activists are too busy trying out new cocktail recipes or in the lineup at Disneyland.
