The CGC has nothing on the seed growers way of extracting money and building a slush fund. ....

100 million plus at WGRF (a guess)
Now 30 million each year for royalties. .

Even if the high estimate doesn't happen the first year you know in the future, in all likelihood, it will.

Take canola for example, it has become more than about royalties, when they gained control of the whole thing look where seed costs went....

Any run of the mill farmer who is advocating for this is either delusional or has skin in the game and taking care of their self interests.

Interesting comments....one question asked in Saskatoon by a young guy was about higher yields also require higher inputs...then he asked about a guaranteed priced for grain....no answer...

Its interesting that the seed industry wants their guaranteed income but farmers are asking too much if they ask for the same...

Yields should be guaranteed. They are taking this guaranteed money to develop
Plants they claim have to have high price of seed to develop and we can't use it ourselves later so why isn't there a guarantee a drought tolerant canola will be drought tolerant? Where is the guaranteed 60 bushels an acre they claim in their trials?? That's the real issue. Their products aren't giving us what they claim all the time.
