I get it , either higher seed costs or royalties are coming regardless..... I just hope it does not bury the farmer in too much expense like we are seeing in other crops .
It’s time for the industry to stand up for farmers as well and demand higher returns for primary producers before we , the ones paying all the bills , are all forced out of business because everyone else in the industry thinks they need more money.
This needs to work both ways .

My idea was to offer the CWB to the farmers of western canada as a IPO....buy shares...It wouldn't mean you would have to deliver there if they were not in the area but you could be part of a new grainco....

Then with their new builds of elevators and the port facility ..I think we would have had real competition...

My delusion was in the fact I thought Yerry and friends had the transparency and accountability shit worked out since its mandatory in the states ....

Look ....the open market was supposed to bring in competition,,,,I don't see it and the companies I will sell to is a shorter list now than 5 years ago....


Someone will eventually get a government grant to study the "open market transition in Canada" and its failures...

And then we go back to creating another SWP....because history repeats itself...

I also mentioned to my MP that canadian grain should have been traded on the Canadian exchanges....his reply was then use them....I told him the graincos were not using them and they were not liquid enough to bother with....he didn't understand...

Feeding the world. What a crock. Much much more accurate to say feeding the system. I was at a small meeting years ago organized by our elevator manager. At this meeting a young fellow,looked fresh out of university,was trying to impress upon us all that we had to grow more grain to feed the world. I forget what company he represented but it doesn't matter. I was getting more pissed as I listened as I had heard the same b.s. over and over for years. At the end of his lengthy presentation he opened the floor for discussion. I put my hand up and politely told him that if his company was truly interested in saving the world from starvation he should be teaching birth control. It was worth the afternoon just to see the look on his face. I went on to explain how many times I had heard the same sales pitch because that's all it is. A sales pitch. If you farm and you get up every day and go to work for the sole purpose of feeding the world,good for you,but it's a delusion.
