Rob Breakenridge wrote an article about Canada just being cracked, not broken (appears in Calgary Herald) - so no big deal. It’s cracked all right - by crack pots!

I’m assuming some of the yellow vest protesters are unemployed so will take advantage of reimbursing some of their fuel travelling to Ottawa from generous donations.
Be sure to contribute tweety.
What is actually ridiculous is the carbon tax Trudeau is trying to impose.

Mr yellow vest, take a step back and realize just how stupid this is. There are multiple boardrooms of fat men in 2000$ suits laughing their asses off at you.

I don't laugh my aaa off when oil is what it is and we pay the price we do for fuel which raises the price of everything else we need.
Or when we lose a crop and our cropninsurance or stability is a joke several fields not covered for losses yet on an average year big premiums it's s a problem that needs to be addressed also
But what colour vest do we wear for our own issues?

It’s easy for us in agriculture to become sanctimonious and crap on the yellow vest protests. We aren’t too far down the line on the world of hurt the oil guys are in. We all rely on the same antiquated under capacity infrastructure and government with no real desire or vision to fix it. As far as the big suits laughing their way to the bank it’s no different than any other corporate entity. Besides most employment in the industry is from drilling and services. When nothing is happening these guys aren’t working and paying any taxes. Hence it’s us stupid ****ers having to foot the bill. I really wish more of our resources were value added here and hence higher value less bulky goods to haul. However, that takes time, money, and a general will for that to happen. Oil isn’t going away any time soon. Lay off the pipe and look at increases in petroleum consumption worldwide and half of it is used for fuel. It’s alright to find alternatives but for the time until it makes sense we are stuck with oil. Support your fellow countryman cause we are next.

Its not just the guys laid off that are in trouble. Significant amount of workers in the oil patch are contractors and they've all had their rates trimmed big time. Basically told if you want to stay on the contractor list drop your rates 30%. Thats happened a few times the last couple years to the same guys. I know wages were out of control but once you get your lifestyle adjusted to your paycheck its hard to make less. Same thing shaping up for us the next few years I think.

Let see the Seed industry claims to be going broke so they are coming after farmers to support and finance them. At the price of gas and diesel at the pumps there must be $ there why don't the oil companies go after the refineries and retail to finance them. At least they can pas on costs farmers can't.
