    Dumb side of xmas

Estimated 21 million unwanted xmas presents will be trashed over next 3 or 4 days crazy.

My wife takes time with xmas presents and tries to buy useful wanted items.

If in doubt dont give or buy a gift card.

One thing we used to do when kids were smaller they may have 4 5 or 6 gifts from family members cousins etc we made them select one unopened gift which had to be given to charity for the next xmas. They never knew what the gift was but we hope it taught them to give and value what they received started at about age of 6 when they could understand the concept. Finished in there teens.

I refuse to set myself up and buy something for someone that I "think" they will like or want....and then be disappointed myself when its never used, or worn, or played with or what ever....

And if I have to shop for a specific item off a list and wrap it to "disguise" what it is, where is the suspense and element of surprise for the "giftee" in that....knowing what your getting.

Tell me which stores you want to shop at and gift cards it is!

We live in a country with just about most people living in enough affluence that it's Christmas everyday. Alot of people are living a life of "no want". If we want something we buy it, we don't have to put it on the Christmas wish list.

I think it is important to remember how good we actually have it!

Most of the things I want for my children, money can't buy.

Take care and enjoy the holiday season.

I looked and looked for a lump of coal, couldn’t find any.
