A friend tried one alongside a regular beef burger. The plant based one had a completely different sauce on it which made it taste better then the other one.

I will try it sooner or later. Question is what do they add to it to make it taste like "beef" or a hamburger? Does that make it healthier? I still say it would be better than test-tube meat.
If it increases demand for pulse crops how could that be bad?

It isn't bad, but, then what do you do about beef production....seems odd that no one adds up the production costs of '"fake"' beef....from the time the seeds are in the ground to patty between the buns....and the amount of subsidy provided by government to create it in the first place...
The whole protein cluster**** thing is a billion dollars of taxpayers money..
Besides you would have to convince the world of the benefits....35 million people isn't going to solve the pulse problem in Canada....

As much as I liked Teenburgers and the root beer, I will never darken those Chiporle-esque lying mother's door. No farmer should.

Had a Jack Fruit burger last week. It was pretty good. Personally my favorite meat is bison. Australian black angus tastes similar but grass fed bison is the ultimate. Less fat, more iron.

I am not opposed to pea/rice/bean/lentil protein. They are good amino acid profiles. Soy is garbage though as it raises your estrogen levels, probably why society is going downhill fast.
I eat very paleo. Vegetables are great. But so is meat, and I eat a lot. They don’t need to pretend processed patties are meat and confuse people, just call them compressed whatever they are made of. And no I won’t be eating crickets.
Edit: I don’t darken the doors of any fast food joint.
