Sorry to tell you guys, but I have Canadas next 100 yr forecast right here and it is an era of stagnation and much higher costs of living. And it has nothing to do with tech. We will have lots of tech. But we will have no young people to drive the country.

Canada is getting massively older, AB and Sk not so bad but the rest, its game over. Even with immigration those places are aging out. As Peter Zehein puts its, the average age of new immigrants coming to Canada is 10-15 yrs older than the US. And as soon as new immigrants get here, they stop having kids too. We should have been directly paying women to have a 3rd kid for the past 20 yrs and now here we are.

And the young people who are fired up often move to the US to pursue their dream. We are left with socialists looking for a govt job or handout.

I have doubts that the old world makes it another hundred years. If it does, the most significant thing will be that peoplekind will all have an implant in their forearm behind the wrist, without which, commerce will be impossible.

Regarding what happens with grain farming, I could care bloody less.

massive change last 30 or so years.

but personally better equipment and quite affordable in early 90s changes to combines and sprayers and better chems fert etc. Really wish things stayed in that late 80s early 90s zone.

we had production increases around then as well but platued since unlike the price of steel.

my 120k morris seeder for example is it really that much worse than new fandangled ones but admit part getting harder to source.

i see our area swinging back to livestock/mixed farming almost back to what it was 100 years ago trouble is younger generation hate stock work prefer arse planted on a tractor seat

If 33 percent of the people in this country keep paying for 100 percent of the bills, ( I don't paint veterans or seniors with this brush, or kids younger than working age) AND we all know who these people are , this country will be so broke, that we will have to take out a mortgage to take a leak!

It may be worse than that. It might be Alberta paying for the rest of Canada.

Canada will not survive in its present form in 100 yrs. It will either have broken up or become a debt ridden socialist hellhole.

Well before 2119, religion will have finished the first go around off.

Hopefully, we can have a colony established on the moon. and a second one on Mars such that earth can be repopulated in the future with a second chance.

Otherwise, the real cockroaches will have control, rather than the present day actual ones.

Western Producer already talks about a cold winter next year, polar vortex’s etc. So obviously climate change is akin to global cooling, so a new ice age is upon us.

And, the Islamic Party of Ontario will morph into the Islamic Party of Canada and get all the Liberal votes, because it is trendy and progressive to be Islamic, and Sharia law will be the new Canada.
