There's lots of other places in the world you could visit if you want an appreciation for the country Canada you call home. Not that I'm talking from experience but it isn't too hard to imagine!

SF what will be left of the farm and other industries in the west once Trudeau is taxing carbon and beef yet. have you and your sons thought about this. I fear for our country. Its been taken over by a corrupt hidden socialism everywhere. People are actually voting against their own freedom. This is insane.

Its not an equal comparison to compare Canada to some 3rd world country. Of course we have it better mostly because our country was built in the age of enlightenment and missed all those centuries of conquest. But going to the US is a different experience. The infrastructure is amazing compared to ours. A small town in the US is 10,000 people, here it is 100.

And everyone always says oh the Americans are so rude and arrogant. My experience is exactly the opposite. More rude condescending types here in Canada. No the US isn't perfect but its the last bastion of freedom in the world. I throw my lot in with them rather than china or Europe.

Yea I agree for the most part Americans are very nice.

One Canadian ripped my wife off the other day at the shopping centre gave her a quarter for her cart and she moved on then looked at the quarter it was a Canadian quarter.

She comes to the car looking disgusted.

          Fracking Canadians.

          Licence Ontario.

I'll bet its not all sunshine and lollipops for all Americans. SF3, you would be in one of the more affluent areas of the Country. I bet you don't see a pile of Ghetto dwellers in line at Disney. U.S. is a big country, ten times our meager population, there better be more hustle and bustle than up here in the frozen North.

I wouldn't disagree there is probably a different mentality between the two countries. I bet, like the population difference, there is probably ten times the patriotism in the U.S. as there is in Canada. Is the U.S. as "regional" as Canada is?

Sask.... a huge "territory" with 1.1 million people in it. Wow... But many days I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Trump message on immigration is similar to one on trade.
                Keep immigrants and imports out.
Never mind that consumers pay more.
In Canada, Quebec seems most hardline on immigration.
Not the way to make a country great.
