We have plenty of wood and flax straw might have to resort to that to stay warm.

Our REA (Lakeland) is very similar to that except we get a charge of 1 cent per kwh in the distribution charge as well bring the total variable cost to 7.8 cents per kilowatt hour. Alberta REA is some of the most expensive power in the country.

Solar and wind might be more reliable if this storage battery designed by a few mit students and a prof from Canada works. Their company is called Ambri.

Heard part of a Bill Gates interview, he is a save the world kind of guy. However he put it quite blunt to the interviewer that wind and solar can not replace fossil fuels at this point. There is no other alternative, yet. Hopefully hearing it from a respected left leaning guy like Gates may help some people realize reality.
