This really isn't about Trump, he just happened to be at the right place at the right time. The outcome was inevitable, and likely irreversible. He will likely get the credit in the history books, and his bull in a Chinashop( literally), may have accelerated the pace, but he certainly doesn't deserve the credit, and it is unfortunate that the same thing couldn't have been accomplished by someone with morals and ethics.

And then speaking of asset bubbles...the very things that drove urban real estate prices, along with good times in Ag, contributed to Ag land's parabolic rise in value.

But remember people say farmland prices can't go down and they're not making anymore!
Tell me where the CAD will be at, before we can solve the other question. Even as the economy falters, land prices (and commodity could very well defy gravity as measured in CAD, as the world continues to lose confidence in our economy, governments, and the Canadian Dollar.

And when we do join the US, what does that do to land values? Will there be a mass exodus from the ROC into the western provinces driving up real estate values across the board? Will converting our existing debt into a possibly strengthening USD (relative to CAD) affect our ability to service that debt, and our access (and cost) to new debt? Will the economic boom as our landlocked resources are no longer blocked at every angle suddenly assist land values?

Trumps style does require some massaging but geez man, look what he has accomplished and think what he could have done if not for that left-wing albatross round his neck.

By this guy, I assume you mean Trudeau? I think it is now safe to say that he has screwed up Eastern Canada's economy for the foreseeable future. He will be remembered as the straw that broke western Canada's back, and convinced us to seek greener pastures, will cause irreparable harm to the rest of Canada's economies( or lack thereof).

China is planning 100 yrs out so why is it strange the US wouldn't be doing the same. Canada wont even exist in a 100 yrs. Our naval gazing stupidity will eventually be our downfall. People 1000 yrs will look back at us and say they had all that (36m people being supported by tens of trillions of resources) and still fd it up. Yup, when socialism combined with SJW identity Marxism enters the fray, the result is utter destruction. Destroys everything in its path and still keeps going looking for another home.

One thing the US usually doesn't tolerate is poor leaders in its hemisphere. Probably they are looking at nutso Canadian leadership coming out of Quebec and thinking lets fracture that place and take it over. They have a lot of water, grain and oil and would make USA top GDP for eternity. I am on board. We should all rush the border with our .22s and then surrender.

Canada is far too preoccupied with apologizing for everything in the past 100 years to worry about our future 100 years.

Please do, better still organize another yellow vest, red-neck convoy and head'er south taking all the other unpatriotic, gun toting, Alt-right, bible bashing wingnuts with you. We'd gladly take some hard working immigrants who aspire to live in the best country in the world in exchange.
