    Solution to China?

Obviously this is huge and going to get worse. The China lady is the problem. Who do we push to get some action on this? This is bigger than petty political point getting.

What are the conservatives saying as the answer? Hearing lots of complaining but what’s their answer?
Who do we push in government?
Convoy did nothing for oil what do we do?
Obviously to me the sooner we punt her out making it worse short term the sooner long term we work on the fix.

You hold Kenney to his promise of a referendum on equalization.

I said before the oil convoy was a waste of time.

Eastern Canada could care less about your oil or your crops.

Just make sure you keep shovelling the tax money to the East.

Dumbo said today that they are 'considering' sending ag reps to China. Do you honestly need it spelled out to you how much less they could care about your problems?

Don’t need it spelled out. We need someone with brains, balls and action to step up and get shit happening.
If your waiting for the conservatives they could give a rats ass about agriculture also. What worries me also on a side note is there are too many extremists in the conservatives that want separation and in my opinion have been wanting things to fail so that it happens.
We are not with oil. Oil and ag issues are two very different issues. If separation ever happens oil will rule more than it is now and it’s a dead industry. It’s not he future. Ag and fiod are the future.

Im not sure why they can’t turn a blind eye as Meng heads back to China. Maybe we could even get the Canadians home that are locked up. Plead stupidity to the US, our government could easily pull that off. Then China and Trump could figure it out and we would not be pawns in the middle.

How about countervail duties on all the crap imported from China or better yet, find "dangerous organisms" in it? Shelves at Wally World and the Dollar Store might be a little bare but sacrifices have to be made.

Just an fyi shes only a piece of the puzzle theres more to it, ASF is killing massive massive numbers of hogs in China, they just don't need the meal for feed and this is also factoring large in this.
They arent going to come out and admit they have a massive problem, but they do.

So maybe they could talk to our hog barn people?? I mean there must be a solution here. We can feed our pigs here the meal and then export the pig with belly full of canola meal. Win win.

Will not speculate on the level of awareness of the ASF problem here but will share this article which has some pretty dramatic numbers in it. https://www.porkbusiness.com/article/hog-feeding-china-down-more-30-percent-suderman-says http://https://www.porkbusiness.com/article/hog-feeding-china-down-more-30-percent-suderman-says

Ag and food the future, who told you that bullshit? I guess it’s a rosy future if you give everything thing away while paying through the teeth for everything you buy.

You’re right in some of that statement. I like to think someday we as a group will get smarter and take back the industry. But I agree that’s getting tougher to do as we go along and lose control of things from seed rights onward.
For now though what do we do to at least give a better chance to make a living at this racket we need the Chinese market or someway to replace it. These dough heads in power obviously think time isn’t an issue. I don’t have faith in our opposition either though. It’s really us farmers against the political and business agendas but somehow we ve been brainwashed into thinking changing the gov is all we need. Although it may help I don’t think anyone in politics or the business network above us gives a shit about any of us as individuals to survive financially. Time is critical for many farmers that this gets solved now.

Yes China would be pulling the same shenanigans right now without Meng as well. It has huge problems, ASF and a weakening economy. They can't service their debt anymore as they have been the kings of mal investment over the past 5 years. For example, they went big into the oil sands just prior to the oil crash. Need to cut back on canola acreage in the future. A new LIFT program perhaps.

Read peoples comments on the CBC article and you soon realize Canada has some very stupid people. They blame it all on Trump. Or trade with the USA and forget China or don't grow Canola.

I think we blew this so bad it won't come back and if the USA and China get the deal that looks like it will happen. We will be shipping grain to the USA for a discount and they will then ship to China.

Yesterday Japan shipped Canola to China, let that sink in for a profit.

Hm did we grow that farmers?

They said Ag will be the next victim after their done with oil. Is this somehow the start of it? Getting rid of what the tree huggers say the worst is Gmos like canola then roundup then all pesticides. But won’t the giant chem go crazy if pesticides are gone well give them the rights to all seed to make them happy. Next will be farting cows then hogs chickens and so forth. It will be impossible to make a living on the farm so people will walk away and move to the cities. Agenda21 anyone. Hope I am wrong and this is just a trade war or something simple. But being the world is going to run out of food soon there is not to many polititions or major news outlets to worried about it.
