I want to know if I am looking at this wrong. When farm debt is nearing $100B does it make any sense to ask for a nearly 150% increase in the CCGA advance and then ask producers to pay it back with commodities that are 15%-25% less than they were a year ago, 2 for pulses. The provincial government doesn't like to add new debt to their books, why do they think it is okay to add more debt to ours. Wonder who the rocket scientist inside the ag ministry thought this was a good idea? We need workable solutions to this mess the feds have gotten us into, why can't the feds buy some of our commodities and turn them into food for some of our under privileged or school lunch programs? Better yet use some of that money to hire a new ambassador to China and get somebody's ass on a plane to china.

Heard also today the big solution is sign up for agristsbility what a fricken joke. Scrap that horseshit program right now and get something that doesn’t put everything in one basket with lowered coverages etc. What a waiste of our money on administering something that doesn’t work. Not sure who was speaking in the radio today but the comment was we know it doesn’t work but let’s tweek it. Sorry we ve heard that from both liberals and conservatives each tweek has been a joke and less coverage.
We do not need more debt we need a solution.
Biodiesel etc.

This is what happens when you have a used car salesman as a provincial ag minister...just add the debt to the newer vehicle...
You have to have the inventory available to back up the request for further dollars...
The price of commodities is not keeping pace with the cost of farming...
Look at the steel industry...Evraz just received 40 million because of the hurt of the tariffs ...
Look at anything related to steel the costs are recouped....
Farmers do not have that option but everyone supplying us does....we pick up those costs...
More debt won't help...
Did the American farmer with the MFP for soybeans at 1.65 per bushel have to pay that back????
there is the solution ...if Canadians value agriculture to the Canadian economy...
Like they are happy to support Bombardier , SNC, the auto industry and others.

Make no mistake, this is not for the producer or in his best interest. It's for the entire supply chain that they are worried is gonna seize up. Govt needs to do its job, get its ass on a plane to Beijing and sort this shit out. Im ok with replacing canola acres with fallow. They haven't dealt with India and they are not dealing with China. Im not taking on more debt on spec when there's been zero effort to reestablish these markets by my govt. Ive yet to see a press release stating anyone in Canadian or provincial govt has contacted the Chinese.

ICE canola futures on Oct 31/18 $513.00/T
ICE canola futures on Mar 29/19 $461.00/T
That is a $52.00/T or $1.179/bu less in five months
Now you climb back on your old WD9 and ride off into the sunset, or have your facts straight when you come on this forum.

A good new combine wasn't 500k plus and a used one wasn't running 250k.
Is am not talking lavish spending ....I am talking basic things....that allow you to farm...
Fuel....a good tractor...drill...sprayer. ..combine...and the necessary inputs to do it....
Then compare it to any other industry that has kept pace.... oh did I mention shop rates yet to fix good used equipment? If that's possible and the parts to go with that bill?

Borrow more money that has to be paid back, what could possibly go wrong? 🤔
I personally think it’s time for a correction, a reckoning, the second coming of christ or whatever you want to call it.

Control, Alt, Delete can fix a lot of things.
Just my thoughts.

This problem was caused by the problematic relationship of our government and the Chinese has nothing to do with the quality of our product.
The opposition and provincial government have no viable solution only the same old ideas that have made our industry weaker.
Replacing lost income with a loan?? Which other part of the business of farming or politics will do that? Will any of them take a 25% loss in revenue and replace it with a temporary loan and say hey that shire fixed the loss? Lol that’s the solution our sask party has for farmers. You can only take a percentage of the value of what you have also, we need to sell it may as well sell it at a loss we will get the same amount of money or more than an advance and not have a loan hanging over your head. Cash cash cash
Why isn’t our government just saying submit your sales we ll make up the difference? That would be too easy.
There has never been a better time to scrap the agristsbikiry program. Our provincial government and the conservatives are saying this is a crisis which it is. Why is it a crisis if we had agristsbikiry? Because it doesn’t work they admit it doesn’t work yet unbelievably their solution is let’s tweek it. Wow. We don’t need the money next year for one thing. Seeding is right here. Already some guys credit cancelled due to not being able to deliver canola. Can’t even sell it for a loss.Last edited by the big wheel; Mar 30, 2019, 08:25.
