Well, the week has been interesting, to say the least. On the play, projects got a new set of skins on one old girl so she is ready to look after the garden and maybe get to Farm Progress show in Regina in Summer. Just decals and fenders left.

I will only say one thing on politics this week. OK, actually two. Calgary are you complete morons and are actually thinking of voting for Nut Case. Wow, welcome to Saskatchewan back in the 70s.

As for Trudeau, he kicked out two strong women and then goes on to say how he stands up for women and is a feminist. What a load of shit. He is a sick individual with a mindset that he is above the rest of us and can do as he wants. He actually probably thinks he was crowned a king. But we hated the first Trudeau and the span of Satan is worse. Lest hope the polls are correct and the fool is long gone and we as a country can do damage control and get this boat upright.

Oh, Wascana please wake the F#$K Up Ralph needs to go, don't give him 4 more years.

Big Rally today in Regina from Estevan and all over. I wonder if the NDP leader will come out and apologize to the FArmers. Nah that's how the NDP has always been, They hate us. Don't be fooled to think they do.

Ok here is the Crop Report.

First seeding intentions have changed since the shit show with China.

HRS 5000 reason if we get 4 timely spots of rain we can make money on this.
Canola 4000 down 20% from normal.
    Peas 500 just because.
    Malt not Feed. 500.

On the farming side like posted on another thread, the auctions seem to be down on price this week.

Land Rent wow could have had an extra 11 quarters because the last tenant thought the rent he was paying was too high. He had a very very good deal and what we have thought it was worth, it still wasn't like south of the valley. No, We didn't take as I hate to drive great distances to farm rented.

The first run of HRS is cleaned and now we're changing over to pea run.

The yard is finally starting to dry up and it was graded this week so next week the two drills can be brought to the shop for new discs sc****rs and some hose work. Gravel might be done on Saturday but the pit is still frozen a few feet down.

Also this year we are looking into the System Climate Field View with our Deere system. I like info and with the drone, this might make some decisions easier. Adding our own new weather station (not Deere). A few larger farms are incorporating this into their system to keep track of everyone and all the crops. It maybe is another tool for the toolbox and cost is not insane since we have the Ipads and deere system.

We have water in most low areas and runoff was min. Water should disappear as the frost comes out. I think the frost is very thick this year. Trees are starting to look like buds are coming.

We had very little snow the other day but a rain event might happen this Friday or Sat.

So guys are starting to move around and get some stuff ready, Auction sale season is upon us. Rallys are happening against Trudeau and his useless fool ideas.

The carbon tax will cost farmers about $2.00 an acre this year. Yea Ralph the Fuel isn't our biggest problem it's you. It will go up to over $4.00 real fast. Shit for brains is shit for brains.

Canola seed is still insanely priced.
    New equipment is insanely priced.
    Parts are insanely priced.
    Rents up.
    Land up.

    Crop prices down.

    Rural internet is a joke.

Ah were winners, Ag more than ever.

On chem rep side we have a couple more companies getting together it will be real easy one guy/girl rep will all that will visit you as a monopoly is so much better.
Have a great week. Hopefully, China gets the girl and we get our Canola crop sold.

Its all about the science to the Liberals and do nothing it will go away.

Yea that struck me as so weird. The minister came on tv and said we have another company but unfortunately we can’t say who it is.

Like WTF let’s keep us farmers in the Dark.

      It’s liberals at their best.

Oh look a rabbit and media turns and they change the topic and move on nothing ever changes and we farmers will be hurt for their useless government

Any farmer been in front of the ag committee so far about the canola issue....

        Anyone about the pulse issue....

Anyone mention the 3.9 billion in the last budget for supply management. ...is that repayable like an advance would be....

Dairy farms can raise their price...4 liters at costco $4.55...4 liters out here 7 bucks.

95% of the snow gone here south of Tisdale, water running in the ditches even though it was not real warm the last couple of days.

Not sure how you guys make money on HRSW, doesn't pencil out for me, but it must for some because everytime I try to haul my Jan oat contract I get shut down because they want to start taking wheat.

At 10 bucks and a good yield, canola still makes money. Will we achieve $10? I believe so but probably not much more. If we were a little closer to Yorkton prices into JRI aren't bad for next fall. Bungee at Nipawin no hell.

So a real mismash of a rotation for me this year, kinda back to normal from my canola/oat program.

            2500acs canola
            1000acs oats
            600acs peas
            700acs canaryseed
            800acs barley(first time in 12 years)

Wheat pays if the yield is good. Lots have to go right but it can make money.

I see canola is below half your crop at Tisdale in a traditional area.

I really believe most farmers in the North or black soil zone will stay the same or just straighten out the rotation.

The area I think a big change will be seen is the South of Number 1 and Brown soil.

If lentils start to get better and green peas were nice. A change will happen. It's still dry.

But a big drop in acres in the north I don't see.

Yes, Yorkton is chugging along nice so far. Oil going south I'm thinking.

Yes, Furrow, we are getting such a great deal for our checkoff dollars and Provincial boards and Rms etc. HAHAHAAHAH

              Crickets.

Yes, I also agree how come no farmers are asked to speak about the Canola shit show.

Maybe the feds need the Seed companies and Mc Donalds because they use Canola oil To tell it like it is.

This should be a great lesson for all young farmers as it was the same in the 80s and 90s when we were protesting.

NO ONE GIVES A RATS ASS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FARM OR YOUR SITUATION Even if it was destroyed by the same people looking into it.

              The shit show continues.

Canola acres in the south aren’t going down!!!

Who wants to seed green peas when they will be sold as feed when one day of sun and a tenth of rain hits them. Been there .....!!!!

Durum acres aren’t falling, ok maybe a bit!!!

Who really is going to make these big changes with seeding soon starting? I’m not changing anything, usually it backfires if I do.

Since MEGZ is running for the CPC ...chances are she won't be invited to testify....shucks....just when you think you can make a difference you expose your political ideology and scare more than half away....

Tough lesson but it's a nice off farm job if she wins...and will confirm that " NO ONE GIVES A RATS ASS ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FARM OR YOUR SITUATION ."

                    3.9 billion for dairy....Remember that...

Going skidooing today. Can still get around pretty good. Have to drag some cow guts out of the yard while the going is good. Tapped a bunch of maples, but the sap ain’t flowing much. Too cold. Spring started a couple weeks ago, then went back to winter with no highs above zero since Sunday. Two small bare patches in the yard. Runoff has been a good amount, dugouts filled, but there will be no short term large amount, just a long two week sustained trickle. I guess that maybe is a good thing.

                      0% canola
                      20% oats
                      30% flax
                      30% soft white wheat
                      20% hay

If spring keeps on in slow motion, soft white may need to be switched to barley or canary.

Yea I remember the dairy etc.

                        But it’s Quebec and Ontario.

Hey I for one was not happy with ritz when he didn’t bring in transparency for the grain trade.

We needed to know what we’re shipping off the coast, price received and where is it going.

This way we would of known as farmers if we were getting F$&ked or just cuddling.

We Would of seen that China stopped all buying from canada shortly after a daddy’s girl got held by canada and he has some real big connections at home in China.

Then then shit show in Ottawa. Name one farmer who spoke. Oh probably they will call McDonald’s to see how much more canola could be used to replace China.

Who else believes we’re been left out for a reason and the shot show is only going to get worse.

If you think about it objectively, its a wonder western Canadian ag even survives after what it has gone through and continues to endure. It gets so little support its frightening. All the regulation and politics and trade issues are tilted against the farmer. Almost like most of Canada wouldn't notice it was gone.

I said this before, the govt doesn't like farmers because they have an independent streak and could go galt if they wanted to. Think about it. if things got really messed up, every farmer could pull up stakes back to their yard and be just fine probably. Grow your own food, generate your own power, well water and give a big middle finger to the govt. No production to tax. There is no other group in the country that could do that. Govt likes dependency.

On a bit of a different note, do you think the SeedTax will come into affect given the commodity grain price uncertainty?

Producers will be looking to shave costs, not incurr higher ones with no contribution to our bottom line.

This issue isn't gone, its just over shadowed right now, I bet the wheels of implementation are still turning!

Yup and they will use a percentage so it doesn't look that bad until prices recover. ....cattle markets are on a percentage....the higher the cow prices the better their return. ...
