If politicians would appeal to peoples sensibilities they will rise to the standard. Just like recycling. Clearly you can see the good that does. LED lights. Less waste, better furnace, more insulation, car that gets better gas mileage. All things that will make a difference right away. But throw in scaremongering with pseudo science and alarmism plus shaming and hypocrisy and public tunes out. That's what will happen. Almost $2 per L in Vancouver,. $1.30 here.
