I feel no sympathy for them either. But if it is so bad why all the guns ho farmers with millions in machinery and bins and land lately? Can’t have been too bad. Assuming good times forever, that is the main problem. Ppl like that need to give their heads a shake, no?

Newsflash: farming has always had good years and bad years. Why make it worse by leveraging fake equity to the hilt, and then whining when prices drop because your new 3/4 ton and sprayer and combine and header, and bin, and swather, and paralink, and land payments, and land rent is suddenly tight or untenable? And whining and acting like we are going to all die is foolishness.

Let those who can’t take it, die. Survival of the fittest and best managers. Is that not the way it should be?

Yes this government is bloody well insane, and has directly caused havoc, but if one can’t do it with nine dollar canola, maybe they should try something else, and leave it to those of us who WILL manage through this apparent end of the world problem?

Sheep would like to hear more what your friend did? Got off the input treadmill?

I used to work the patch and those guys spent so much time whittling costs down and working economics even when their commodity fell. And they only have one commodity. They cant grow 3 or 4 different things like we can. And yes, that even meant not producing barrels to support prices. I have always said if we went into a 3rd yr chem fallow rotation, our prices would go up a dollar a bushel.

Apart from the guy that was contracting Nexera at $12+ for next spring?

The biggest bullshit in this thread is the uniform acceptance that this was all caused by the Liberals and the Government. You haven't been around very long if you don't recognize trade disputes are part and parcel of having Ag exports. If you really believe it's all the Liberals doing what are you worried about? You're all convinced Scheer will win in October so things will be fixed lickety split before harvest is done.

Wow your one big liberal aren’t you.

Yes trade disputes happen but this is a direct result of some one who is not smart.

And the way you post lately I’m questioning your intelligence

Guys renting at 120, flipping machines every other year, building million dollar grain leg handling systems obviously dont understand the cyclical nature of farming. Unfortunately for some, it will take another year for them to realize we are heading back to a 5-10 year down cycle.

FCC report says farmland in Sask increased 7.4% and farmland values in Canada increased 6.6%. The lowest growth since 2010.
Methinks SF3 doth protest too much.
