Finally all bugs worked out on drill 2were going on peas drill one tomorrow on wheat.

A forty foot auger with the right amount will work its about mixing...

Whoa! Wow! 600+ total to calve out, yikes.

It usually goes good except when the crummy weather hits. Got 3/10” of rain with strong wind at 1*c overnight and the fresh ones become a calfsickle pretty quick without a trip to the sauna (hot box) regardless of how good the cow is. I get to run the show from 7 pm till 5am when my brother shows up. With the weather issues we’ve had growing grain for three years now I think we’ll breed a bunch more heifers and grow just enough feed grain and straw for us.

A couple of neighbors are kinda having a contest to see who gets to a thousand cows first and apparently the rumours are we’re in the contest now too. I don’t care what anyone else does but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Hoping for sunshine now the moisture is good enough to push some seeds in the ground and grow some grass. Two weeks ago spring was looking ahead of schedule and now we’ll be glad just to get done.

Well we got virtually nothing
For moisture out of any of this so
Far.
Had to fight railroad fires .
2 in a row. Of course CN crew working on windy days.2nd not sure
The cause . First was pretty much held to the right of way.
2nd was headed across my land and on to neighbors.

Everything seems to be headed to shit. Market wise.
But the solution will be the same
As it always is.
Eventually somebody will need what we have to sell.

Yes TRUDEAU is turning out to be a dick too. On a lot of fronts.

And we love to blame someone.
But the canola ,peas ,lentils,
Pork thing . Would all be the same
With Harper or scheer .
There is no way those two would not grab Meng to please Donald Trump. Tell me otherwise.

And why did they not go after the US banks that did not check the facts on Billions in loans.

And we pay the price
For taking sides

Ass about any loyalty from us anyway.

My folks are still here most of the time but do disappear for a few well deserved months throughout the year. My brother is here full time as well as my Dad’s cousin who started working here in the winter. My wife helps out too when the kids aren’t occupying her time. Generally we like to do everything “in house” although we just sent out the wheel loader to get the hydraulic pumps rebuilt since fix-it projects are backing up in our shop.

I love what I do and who I get to do it with 95% of the time. Even checking cows at midnight (could do without the snow though).



My folks at their surprise 40th anniversary party we threw for them from February. I’m grateful they gave us the opportunity and knowledge to do the things we do. Who could ask for more?😎

Agree that Trump could give a rats ass about Canada . But one needs to ask why ??
The very first time Freeland pranced down there to Washington thinking she was such a smart ass was a very dumb move. As well Trudeau himself being well ... himself.
Not defending Trump but these two leaders are on totally different planets.
Harper or Scheer would at least be able to work with Trump and not be a complete embarrassment to our country. This situation would have never got this far .
