Ya, no doubt.....unless as a volunteer.

Some winters(or parts of winter) may suck here in the the Slum of the Ghetto but we aren't prone to flooding on our farm. Or any other natural disaster except plow winds or funnel clouds but they are few and far between.

our little town has flooded at least half a dozen times , it is the most horrible thing you can be part of . the destruction and water really eats away at you. the positive thing is the volunteers that show up , especially young people ! the Red Cross and especially the Salvation Army were amazing . they are a fantastic place to donate money . they just came in , took over our community hall and there was always coffee, snacks and hot meals all week . some natives came from red earth and worked right along side of us all week . made the national news at least three times . the provincial govt disaster organization was amazing as well.
at least now after the last one we are covered on our insurance for overland flooding . the town needs a proper dike but the permitting/funding cannot be from the provincial govt . so everytime it floods track hoes are sent out when there is a state of emergency declared(you can do anything you want when this is going on) you would think this would be a fairly straightforward matter to stop the destruction . but not so, the suckers that run the burnt out creek in the spring are more important than a few million dollars in houses according the prov. water corporation .
stupid part of this whole thing is our forefathers moved the town in its early days , from a lake bottom , over a huge hill and onto an old lake shore . too bad they wouldn't of stopped on the hill

Fransisco, became extinct immediately after Ritz Cracker eliminated the CWB. Was posting daily, inciting constant debate on behalf of the Ostrich Farmer's Camp.

          Hmmmmmm!
