I hear you.
It is May 5 , so long as seed is in the ground by the end of May.
Can’t wait for it to warm up, it would really dry out fast and leave stranded ungerminated seed. Or just as bad late May frost. Pick the poison, some one is always right, and their not right all the time either.
Calendar says go, weather forecaster might get tomorrow’s weather right.

We have a short growing season where it’s much easier to look at the current situation and determine what the risks are. The intangible or I should say unknown is when we receive the first killing frost in the fall. We are well overdue now for a early frost event.

Hobby that’s why you title fits you have know clue about farming.
Never have we seeded canola in April let alone first 7 days of May. That’s since the 60s.
But what do I know.
These will be the same guys crying with flea beetle problems or dead froZen canola or poor seed treatment.
But hey it’s great to be first done seeding so you can tell every one look at me.
