I could care less about BASF and their chem prices or share prices . There are lots of other options for crop protection products.
I am doing my part ... no burn off ... hitting some fields with a high speed disc for 100 % weed kill even in cold weather 🤓.

We have a huge problem if you are one of those farmers who thinks this will blow over your dead wrong.

Traders are worried maybe more than farmers that should yell you something.

oh, its not gonna blow over at all
maybe in 5-10 years , this is the eighties 2.0
in ten years there will be a lot less farmers
glad we took some of the $10 "specials"
strange thing is that it didn't matter if it was apr/may/june del. , its all gone, so they do "need it"
every bin dealer here, has hopper cones filling their yard, new bins have increased 15-20%, this is gonna be as ugly as it gets !!!!!! anyone who thinks they can store their way outta this one is dreaming
everyone should tell these seed co's to shove their $16.50/lb seed right up their asses , talk about a disconnect with reality? , and then they will wonder why guys are brown bagging again ?? can't they operate a fn calculator???????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????
good time for a seed tax , sure shut those arseholes up though

In all honesty how long was this bull run?13 yrs?
Bull markets are the authors of bear markets and bear markets are the authors of bull markets. The market can remain irrational far longer than most can remain solvent. So stop worrying about what’s going on across the fence and focus on your own kitchen.

This downturn will affect everyone but to various degrees. It’s no different if you operate on a cash basis or heavily financed. You will have to answer to people about losing money whether it’s banker frank or wife melody. People will want answers.

We as producers need to focus on the pennies and the dollars will look after themselves. All this input snake oils or it works 1 out of 4 years needs to stop.

                      Iceman rant over

We canceled all snake oil trials for this spring. Have to watch every penny.

Had discussion with my major partner. She was so pissed she headed to Florida for three weeks. Girls trip.

I’m a bachelor during seeding have to cook my own meals.

Should of went with her and not seeded would be further ahead.

That decision should have been made last fall. Anybody for some 100 dollar rent?

There were some high rents being paid(relative to this area). Alot of grain commodities are sucking. I think there is going to be some tight margins.

Just use $1.50/bu on 40 canola....$60 off the top. For the high achievers...50bu/ac....$75 off the top.

For people who got $12 the last two years....

What a wild risk we take.

It’s a long time till harvest, just keep that in mind. The world isn’t ending just yet.
Lots of time for weather scares etc.
