    Everything "new is improved"!
Some of those lights aren't cheap(to buy and if they are there might be a reason) either.

Remember those ugly compact fluorescents were supposed to replace incandescent.

I like LED over those vile CFL. You get what you pay for but yes there is overpriced junk. My only beef I have is they don’t penetrate the dust like halogens do.

I assume equipment lighting not building? What's going on?

I've heard some of the cheaper Chinese ones have really short life expectancy.

Love LED's in house and on equipment. Even the yard light was switched over and 5 years later it has long since paid for itself and is saving me money. But you definitely get what you pay for. Love Philips LED's for house. Pricey but have only replaced a couple of flukes - and saved a bunch in hydro. Hate CFL's with a passion.

            .....you don't say!

            Sorry for the sarcasm.

Kripes, a CFL melted right into our kitchen socket- lucky it didn’t burn our house down. We bought LED’s for around a new sunroom. Only problem, the wires fall apart inside on installation.
