    Frost map

Enviro Canada put out a frost map showing the extent of the frost on Sunday. Whole of SE sask and into manitoba at -6 or colder

Our temp recorded -6.3 in the field at ground level.

Canola is very very badly damaged with lots of 80% loss of plant population and what remains has taken the full brunt of massive flea beatle attack. Driest april and now driest May on record.

The western seducer says its not sure of the impact?!?!?

Most of the farms mags are nothing but socialist crap. The Agriville socialist ***** is in the latest Country Guide. Lost track how many times he has pimped himself out to the farm mags. Apparently there is no else around that has as good a bullshit story.

Since when was the country guide anything
            Socialist?
unless things have changed , as I have not read one in years.
            I quit reading it .
Because they were just the mouthpiece of its corporate sponsors, conservatives and the western Canadian wheat growers with thier editorials every month.

Did you see the latest edition?

I think most people read what articles are in it and after being disappointed use it for starting a fire.

So how many of you avid capitalist free marketers have denounced their "socialist" welfare subsidies for agriculture? The list of taxpayers benefits is quite long.

Then at the same time taken advantage of Canada's socialist healthcare system?

To many of you, anyone or anything that presents a different point of view is labelled a socialist.

Canola seed suppliers are happy. Now they do not have to look at such a large stack of inventory this winter.

Yup ..I know where you are going with this...

The so called capitalists in this country are the biggest government tit suckers...

                    1. The steel Industry
                    2. the auto industry.
                    3. The aerospace industry
                    4. the shipbuilding industry
                    5. The railways need governments to kick around. AGT got 110 million.
                    6. The guys wanting the end of the wheat board because they were capitalists were in front of a parliamentary committee telling them how they had unprotected canola in the bin...thats speculating ...

Now where our opinions diverge is this drought isn't funny anymore and there is a shit load of hurt coming ...starting with the cattle guys....why???

Because you can offer them money but feed isn't available...and neither are pastures...the only solution for a lot of guys will be to sell the cows....that is fact....

Next will be the grain guys...the crops in...but a rain is needed pretty quick.

The railways are making money on everything they haul...
The graincos will make their margins...and they have ties to every government for support...

If you want to lose another generation of farmers and just go to equipment jockeys on 25000+ acre farms ...its coming real quick...the hutterites are gearing up for their next expansion....new colonies...some trying to buy abandoned towns....

If there isn't a support package like Grant Devine's era....you can say good bye to many family farms....

Trump has thrown or committed 27 billion to farmers and they are discussing weather related aid packages now....another 20 billon...

Trudeau is lecturing the US about abortion issues because he thinks that is an election issue here...FFS..

Which companies are covering seed for re-seeding?
What companies are covering spray for flea beatles since seed treatment isn’t working?

So let me get this straight....guys go out with freezing temperatures to seed early ....the insecticide wears off and the seed gets froze off and they are better off re-seeding free seed???

Why not wait and do it once without the extra headaches of spraying free spray or reseeding free seed?????

The equipment and fuel costs are not free ...are they????

Or would a seed tax fix this lack of quality seed and seed treatments....maybe canola seed is too cheap. (Maximum Sarcasm Level) 😂

Perhaps crop insurance needs to implement an minimum seeding date on canola? seems later seeded canola always does better around here?

The most beautiful lentil fields around here this year are the ones seeded April 15 on Canary stubble burnt black. The black soil held the heat and lentils are 3 inches tall with 7-8 branches. You see Bucket every dog has his day. Seems farmers are all just experimenting. With about 100 days to grow a crop, we are never sure which hundred days they are. Depends on early frost in fall or late frost in spring.
