    Ghetto dry....

Poor gopher couldn't make it across a half section of seeded canola.

    You anywhere near death valley?

4 very unkind days of heat and wind forecast. Even though the crop is at the seedling stage this is going to really do a number on potential going forward, even with rain...

BTW looks like some decent chances next weekend...too far away to put any trust in

Was just doing the math on my canola. So one plant every 3 to 6 ft on every second to 4th row on 10 inch spacing means I don't have a hope.

Its so dry the furrows won't maintain the v. Just like ashes.

One field where I filled on the corner was blowing in the 60 km winds Thursday.

Neighbour’s horse pasture crawling with gophers, starting to move into own crop.
Anyone have experience collecting wildlife damage for gophers?

LEP, we had that one year too, worst part was when the rain came it washed those vees mostly level, covering over the canola in cotyledon and first true leaves stage. Lots of thin, blank areas as once covered they're toast.

farma, have some compassion for your gophers, put some water out for them, maybe a little liquorish sweetener with it.

Anhydrous. Piss on the Goperhator takes a big tank for a ride with the Dully to the field.

Grab an extension for the hose and find the main hole. Then go cover others you see and now for the fun open the main big valve.

shit starts to happen and even the old big ones some times try to pop right out of the ground. It's like the gas chambers in Germany. Mustard gas.

                The problem dealt with.

We actually aren't in horrible shape as some describe but I have to wonder how long we can hang on.

Hay crops will be in a world of hurt. Pastures not far behind. A neighbor land rolled some seeded crop...probably in preparation for the haybine

We might land roll all our flax.

Local BTO is still seeding, not reseeding. Rumors said it may be hemp. A cloud of dust behind the drill.

If it doesn't rain this year, "before it's too late", it will separate the financially weak from the strong.

What is unsold old crop canola really worth? ...more than $9.50, that's for **** sure. What's feed grain and hay going to be worth?

Drew sent out an audio message....not real promising short term and we all know the accuracy of long term guessing.

                  Take care everyone.

SW of me, there's a few pastures where they're down to nubs, caraganas included, and the cows are stretching the fence and down on their knees reaching for the few blades of ditch grass within reach.

Same fellow fenced out his house, gated the driveway, and is grazing his yard...
