And yet you and chuckles continue to bring him up as a response to every question.

I can't vote for him, didn't vote for him, wouldn't vote for him, but sometimes I can see his point.

Forget comparing any particular year with another. Ignore what climate scientists are saying about the impact climate change is having on the jet stream and weather patterns because your farm is bulletproof and droughts and floods won't hurt you. And if they do its all Trudeau's fault! LOL

                https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/saskatchewan-dry-spring-1.5160381

Saskatoon and Moose Jaw had their driest springs ever recorded

"Saskatoon saw only nine percent of its typical precipitation over the last three months"

                Jet stream to blame

Over the last little while our jet stream — the fast moving band of air in the upper atmosphere that separates cold air from warm air and guides our weather systems — has been sitting over the United States keeping heavy, flooding rain to the south.

Our polar jet has been pushing systems to the north of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, leaving Western Canada in the dry and calm air in the middle.

This pattern has been acting as a block in our atmosphere, meaning day after day of similar conditions.
This long stretch of hot and dry weather means that most of the southern prairies are under extreme fire risk. (Natural Resources Canada)
                Abnormalities could become the norm

As our planet warms at different rates, the frequency of these long abnormal stretches of weather could increase.

Terri Lang, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, said our irregular jet stream is connected to how the planet is warming.

"With the Arctic warming faster than the rest of us, there isn't as much of a temperature difference. That means the jet stream is weaker."

A weak jet stream will undulate and meander more, leading to these longer stretches of abnormal weather.

We had that storm go by here. Was afraid it was going to be one of those dry lightning storms but the rain came when most of the lightning was past. Nice gentle 7 tenths.

Grass has a lot more turgor and the pasture will really improve. Grass likes the lightning.

Even the worms are up on the sidewalks. The birds are happy!

                  Life is good today.

Chuck, I'll ask the same question I asked Mustardman, and received no response. That is a very complicated quality to measure. How do you measure the historic jet stream undulations?

I can certainly agree that weather patterns get stuck lately, sometimes for the better sometimes for the worse. But I am not old enough to say that this is unusual or unprecedented, and I can't seem to find any pattern in the weathered records available.
Just curious what metrics you are using, and what time period this change started. And how far back you are able to find records to make such a conclusion, all the records I can find are so full of gaps that it is impossible to draw any conclusions.

Do you mind sharing your data, or analysis, I do really want to see the results.

If only Mt St Helens or Pintabu or some others would change our climate again, everyone could agree on what the problem really is.
