Rain this weekend would not be too late,
but it looks like it is going to be too little.

The moisture deficit is just too big

we had a 90 percent chance of an inch of rain yesterday for the weekend....today its 5mm and lowered percentage....

Cooler today ...not sure if just having 150lbs of fertilizer in the ground guarantees a crop?????

The 3 day rain forecast for us in SE Sask basically disappeared tis morning. Over Fri, Sat and Sun we were looking at 10-20mm each day, now 5-10 Sat, which would still be helpful, yet is a disappointment from what had been forecast for nearly a week.

          Hope not to offend....

Seriously guys, don't get your hopes up too high. I'm not saying a good rain can't or won't happen.
I know its not easy to do when rain is desperately wanted/needed....
But take it a day at a time.
I've learned that I find it easier on my constitution to be pleasantly surprised than repeatedly sorely disappointed.
I realize there is alot at stake here.

          Take care everyone.

Again, a week out, rain. Four days out, gone.

Careful though. We can't talk about the weather in any way on here anymore.
Some apparatchik asshole will jump in with a sanctimonious cut and paste. Waving his finger in our faces screaming "see, I told you so!!".

I don't do alot of cutting and pasting so I assume that wasn't directed at me?

              Hope not.

Zero precip in the YR.NO forecast for us out till the 13th June. I guess with the higher temps we might get a thunderstorm but that won't carry us for the summer on the back of last year's shortfall.

Cant get anyone at crop insurance for next two days - in meetings. Probabaly getting together to figure out how ti handle this shit storm brewing.

If I dont get a rain this week or so, gonna have to abandon that canola and go drill some wheat down 2 inches or something.

We went from a forecasted 50+mm to 15 mm since yesterday for the next four days. Probably got 5 mm and the first thunderstorm this afternoon halfway through vaccinating 170 pairs. Timing stunk as we were going to haul them out to grass but that plan got scratched due to the delay. Ain’t got no control over weather so not going to sweat it. The Timothy is headed out at 8 inches and the pasture and hay is quickly running out of gas.

My FIL was helping us the other day and asked if I’m crazy for doing what we do .............. my wife said yes .......... probably I am delusional but I’m also ignorant and that’s blissful.
