So I got a call today from cps about their sustainability program. If you dont push bush etc. they had a premium of 15 cents a bushel apparently. Kinda pathetic actually. But it made me wonder as I dont push bush etc. and it may in theory add a potential market. 15 cents a bushel premium could add 6 to 20 bucks an acre in revenue I suppose.
They are sending me more info on it. Anyone here have any actual experience with it?
And secondly, I recall some years back that certain companies were paying premiums on chemical free production. I wonder about it this year as there are basically no weeds, and the crop with the dryness will certainly have a big jump when and if it does rain. Any one know about companies paying premiums on chem free production these days?
I am an outside the box kinda guy. I have grown grain chemical free before because I dont have heart attacks if I see a few weeds.
