Instead of marching to Ottawa, we should mobilize a convoy to Vancouver, bust the huawei chick out and put her on the next plane to Bejing

Maybe Canada should leak out a video of her getting shot in the head. Then we could move on to a different chapter.

Did you read what actually happened here? On the face of it at least one pork processor shipping pork to China with ractopamine in it (which they don't allow in their imports) and covering their deception with counterfeit veterinary health certificates. This was discovered by CFIA and they reported it to the Chinese.
I know China are looking for an excuse but unlike the canola ban they certainly seem to have grounds for complaint this time.

Yea and we import seafood and for some unknown reason to me garlic and other products processed there all in an atmosphere and soil full of harmful toxic metals from factories and literal human crap that they can’t even breath there.

But on the other hand why be so stupid to export something that is in their banned list? Quite ironic they have this standard given their own environment yet it’s acceptable for us to eat this added chemical???

Then you will still have the trade war to deal with after that exercise. The US is the largest customer of canola oil and meal so they may not be pleased with the jailbreak. This is about far more than the huawei chick. China has vast debt to service and need USD for that rather than buying imports. China also has huge investments in agriculture in SA in particular so has to favor that in purchasing to make the investment pay off and service the debt mentioned earlier. Just buying commodities on the open market would be far cheaper for China than on this carrying on all around the world but that is not the Chinese way. China also has african swine fever and that is one problem they have not of there own making.

The West is addicted to cheap Chinese(And other Pacific rim countries) junk and wouldn't want to sacrifice their lifestyle to pay more for locally made better quality products.

I can't stand the smell of Princess Auto shit hole stores. I used to work part time in the Regina stockyards when I got out of school....i would rather come home smelling like cow shit than working a day in that garbage store. It doesn't take long for the olfactory sense to get used to that toxic odor but how good is it for you to be in it 8 hours a day 5 days a week?

But it's "cheap" and probably full of lead.

Not nearly as bad as melamine in baby food.

Can someone explain how the certificate system works. CFIA agrees that it is an inaccurate certificate at fault. Who issues certificates? I always thought it was the CFIA just like CGC does for grain when did it change?

Farmers get hurt thanks to the incompetence of Business. But who will Trudeau give money to instead of farmers? Business.

This is a total shit show again.

Not "inaccurate" certificates - the accusation is forged certificates - 188 of them. The company is Frigo Royal out of Quebec who by their website appear to be merely a packaging and shipping company who take care of the inspection and certification of export products. Don't know who they are exporting pork on behalf of - no indication of who is slaughtering the pork but its presumably not Olymel or Maple Leaf.

Why not ask Trump to cancel the charges against the Huawei executive? John Mcallum former ambassador to China suggested this knowing it probably wouldn't happen.

Its the US who laid the charges against her. Canada has an extradition treaty with the US thus we are forced into extradition unless they don't have a case.

Trudeau maybe is ineffectual but the real cause is the US trade war with China. Trump supporters don't want to admit this but it is reality. We are not going to win a trade war with China. They don't need us like we need them.

Canada is not always squeaky clean in its food supply. We have producers who ignore labels, use products that aren't registered and generally don't care as long as they get away with it. It only takes takes one idiot to ruin an export market.
