    Come on Ag Groups!!

So obviously people representing Ag groups do not want to get involved in chat groups. But it would be nice to know what each of you believe Regarding some questions us producers have maybe if we asked the questions and you don’t want to reply here maybe make a statement in the radio or papers. It sure might quieten or maybe heighten the growing tension between us farmers and you. Becauese honestly we have been grossly underrepresented in the ag sector.

    APAS
    Canola growers
    Wheat growers
    NFU
    Pulse growers
    Canary commision
    Barley growers
    NDP
    Sask Party
    Greens
    LIberals
    Conservatives
    Any I missed

Do you think crop insurance is adequate?
Do you think if you have 3 or more past year wipeouts included in a 10 year average that you will have any coverage that is sufficient?
100% minus 30% = 70% of average and can only insure 80% of that meaning insured for 56% of what is your average. Shouldn’t your insurance fully insure what you can grow???

Crop insurance premiums are out of whack grossly why is money being taken into general revenue when the program is so shitty.

Do you think agristsbikity will work? Why should rhe livestock and grains be included together?
How will agristsbikity work when you have to have max crop insurance coverage to have max agristability yet agristability is on 70%????
Do you not understand even if you get a payment producers will have paid interest for a year on bills and likely lost credit ranking etc?

Speaking on interest how are Input and other Ag companies allowed to charge the rates they do when the b of c rate is what it is? The interest has destroyed more farmers than many disasters.

What are you doing to fix the pulse market options? Canola? Canary seed?

Do you believe prices of what the middle men receive and what we receive should be more transparent?

Should the big Ag businesses receive support payments and not producers? Should there not be clauses that they have to stay in business for x amount of years or they pay it back?

    Seed tax????

Land rent on gov land supposed to be based on grain prices. Grain prices recently went down yet sask government has implemented almost double of land rent and is in some cases 25% higher than private rent arrangements.

Should dry land farmers not receive what irrigation farmers recieve. 40 bucks an acre (bucket)

Should there not be a better program to help ranchers retain their herds?

The cattleman is in a bad situation....if you find a feed program that would help....where is the feed or hay that will be reasonably priced or reasonable pasture????

And it isn't their fault there wasn't enough rain last year in the fall to set up a start and the spring rain didn't come...

I have hayland that fed 500 cows ...not all mine....I was generous on a crop share ...now I couldn't get enough feed off those same acres for my own herd....I have reasonable carry but not enough to make the winter...sort of sucks but will find a way.....other cattlemen that are older are saying it is time to retire and young guys can't start with these conditions...

Irrigation is subsidized more than supply management ....it is a fact...can't believe dryland farmers tolerate their tax dollars going there but its deemed an economic driver....it isn't...

Farm groups....where do you start...phone some of these guys sometime if you want insight into why farmers are not represented....spoke to a saskpulse director about saskpulse asking the government for a financial package and next thing he is comparing it to the cwb....I am not kidding...

Most farm groups reps just see it as a stepping stone to political life....

The Big Wheel What is the cost of land rent on gov land ? What is the cost on private land.
I dont have exact #s here in alta but grazing is a giveaway on gov and crop land is less than 1/2 of going rate on private land.

Gov crop land here is 25% higher than the private they’re causing all kinds of problems not only for the people renting their land but the higher prices are hitting others and it isn’t worth it on that type of land.
Plus the formula is based on grain prices did grain prices double in the last 3 years? That is the agreement written in stone. But surcharges are being added to pay for the gth and all the other crooked shit that is going on here and no one ever is accountable for.
I know your situation is different there from what I understand friends of the party hit dirt cheap land and made money off royalties etc or is that not true? Trust me don’t wish they raise the price because it will come back to get you on your private land rented also. Government should not be creating a higher than market value for land particularly in these troubled times. And second would you accept it if your land lord said hey I overspent and can’t count so even though we have a contract your going to pay double. That’s absolute bullshit.
And I know some allocations were political but I also know younger people from all political stripes really helped them out having that land getting started it was a way to not have to compete with the rich mega farms for land the bigger your farm the less chance you got gov land which in that sense was about as fair as it could get for young farmers.
