Early wheat a dud here. Headed out with average sized heads but not very many, dropped most tillers. Early canola thin but is filling in, would say the rain was just in time. Should be full flower next week. Late canola will be a monster crop. Same with later wheat.

Have been hearing lots of carryover of chemical on the pea stubbles. Careful what you plant next year if you are on the dry side and like spraying SF3’s favourite chemical.....

Have a bunch of varieties of wheat seeded, also have bunch of canola varieties seeded. Always like to see how each develop but in the end the combine tells you which one is the best.

We have the top four Liberty varieties including two new ones not from BASF.

Personally discouraged about my crops. Screwed up and seeded too shallow so my flax is either just emerging or four inches high. Not excited about how that will work. Sickening to drive by it. My oats some is similar but some is pretty good. Wheat looks best. As I said before, seeding tools mattered this year big time.

Area crops are variable too. Some guys very fortunate, some not. Everyone seems to have some fields with troubles, so I ain’t alone. But there are some beautiful crops thrown in, depending on previous crops, soil type, and plant stand/emergence.

Because of this, it is tough to guess at yields. Some canola is pathetic, some is REALLY NICE! Some cereals are tremendous, some are thin and sparse. Haven’t seen this kind of variance before.

I thought the Imazethapyr in Odyssey was the carry over culprit, not the Imazamox. Therefore I thought Solo and Viper wasn't an issue, unless we weren't told "the rest of the story".
