    Importance of G-20 Meeting

Trump and Xi are expected to meet this weekend in Osaka. A lot economically hinges on this meeting.

Without evidence of improving trade relations or at least a partial deal between the U.S, and China, markets could come under fire. An actual 'win' by Trump could rally markets including commodities sharply. But a 'no deal' suggests global economic turmoil ahead and falling GDP.

Some oil analysts have warned a no deal could hammer WTI oil prices toward $30 per barrel. Expect a potential sharp pickup in the VIX volatility index into July (IMO). A lot of unknowns in markets right now.

The G20 is pretty much an irrelevant yawner at this point. China has no plans to negotiate in good faith so why even try with those folks. Just put on the tariffs and be done with it. China wants unfettered access to our market while controlling imports at home. Stupid canuckistanians think that is fine while the rational folks like the President and his supporters say it is not good enough. The American taxpayer is under no obligation to prop up China although apparently many people around the world think they should be doing that for some reason.

China has no intention of speaking to Freeland or Trudeau. Wonder why? (Sarcasm)

The Canadian public is aware and getting tired of China's bullying on this Huawei issue.

I really think that before the election that Trudeau will start ramping up pressure on China either with duties, inspections, expulsions or whatever. This will done in the hopes that the electorate will rally around the government and gain happens in the polls.
