Highway rest stops

I hadn't heard anything about the closing of some highway rest stops until I was listening to a replay of Gormely last night while spraying. Does this not reek of government hypocrisy and incompetence? In one breath the government says we need all these new regulations for the trucking and farming industry to keep our roads safe and then they turn around and do this, that is the hypocrisy. We hear every year how much money they are spending on repairing our highways, is there nobody in the highways ministry smart enough to realize that maybe we should spend some of that money on upgrading and adding some modern rest stops, there is the incompetence. How much money was spent on the corner of 35 and 335? Maybe Ralph Goodale, our minister of PUBLIC SAFETY, should concentrate on traffic safety instead of trying to move a little bit of water. I am fast losing patience with this provincial government, but we don't have an alternative. Where have all the true conservatives gone?

My thoughts exactly. I think we need more not less rest stops. On interstate highways they are every 20 miles or so. They are important for safer highways for all.

The government jut wastes most of our money anyway so more and more modern rest stops is whats needed.
As for the corner of 35 and 335 nothing has been done yet except a big dollar study on what should be done. After the report came out in i think Feb. the highway guys came out and painted Stop on the highway. The intersection was covered with snow, ice and salt at the time and you could not see the paint the day they painted. Now i think they have added a Stop Ahead Sign back about a km before the intersection.

Seniirs with false teeth really rely on those rest stops to find them on the car floor after they bounce out when hitting all the pot holes.

MMMMMM, Billion plus for a bypass for a city of less than 300000 people. Global transportation hub which increases truck traffic on our highways, no foresight to think ahead of where these trucks can stop and drivers rest when they time out. The rest of North America seems to be able to do it pretty sure we can.

When you look at what they did and how stupid it was and is. They’ve admittedly want nothing to do with GTH and are trying to sell it ummm who the hell else would want it? They won’t just drop it because that would be admitting it was beyond stupid so we keep paying for it either in pst or dropping of services such as the truck stops education etc etc.
Honestly the most lame brained gov we ve had in a long time. Just sitting waiting for 120 oil. Nothing else for rural sask.
Someone explain how people didn’t go to jail for some of these things.

Most of these immigrants that drive trucks in teams just cut a hole in the floor and shit on the go. Truck mechanics take one look at the shit and piss on the drive train and refuse to fix em. Gross!!!

Toilet paper on drive train is a giveaway according to one dealership who refuses to work on these vehicles. 👎

I always laugh when I see a cow piss or shit out of a cattle pot and cover the vehicles beside and behind them. Can just imagine how mad that would make especially a non farmer. But would never expect it to come from the truck.
