Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

If I here one more F#$King Idiot talk about a glut of Canola I'm going to scream. People have bills to pay most farms to have debt and if they are massive farms its massive debt. Young wants everything so they have debt. But the experts think like Trudeau and his fairy dust that farms have bins full of grain.

It's a Joke the same as the USDA and Corn. MArket manipulation for the Grain companies etc.

Also, the notion that Rain a week ago and now crops that have 40 stages are on way to a bumper crop. For F#$K sakes some fields just have rows today July 4th how will that make a bumper no frost till what November. God, we have morons that publish shit.

But Drew put a Sad face on most farmers this week with a Frost is certain this year in Northern areas thanks to a weird weather pattern. So to all the morons predicting a big crop yea Big Feed crop or Jack shit because the seed won't be made even.

Climate change was supposed to warm the planet. Yea it's warming it you fools. The sun is in a low period and that's causing the weather. So stick your Carbon tax where the sun doesn't shine.

Well since I'm on a pissed off roll lets hit our PM since the moron went to the G20 and cried my big friend Trump will tell the Chinese to back off cry baby Canada and Ill get a deal. HAHAHAHAH how that work you fool Trudeau and the Liberals. The Chinese were laughing at us yesterday in the News. Were so screwed most Canadians don't realize this.

The sad part to the whole shit show is 37% of Canadians still believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause, Unicorns Sasquatch and Trudeau. The Fool is going to get elected again thanks Ontario and Quebec you're the Death of Canada.

Ok, Piss on Depressing News Lets look at the Crop Report things are changing but were running out of time.

HRS has reached the Flag and Early seeded in April crop is heading. One observation the early seeded has issues with lost tillers and smaller heads coming out. They can fill but the bonus is gone. Heat and drought got the bottom tillers. Later into May wheat has the most potential but the fall frost could cut that short. Lots of guys are wondering if they should spray fungicides on Wheat because of the crops thinner stance and they always add about 1 week to 10 days maturity does to nicer plant. South Valley had lots of spots that missed last weeks rain and a lot don't think it's worth it.

For us, the early probably won't get anything since I still have Liberty 2 pass to complete and what timing. I'm not getting a plane for poorer wheat.

Overall the wheat hit the gas and later fields are thickening up to look close to normal. Time will tell but overall north of the valley the wheat is holding at last weeks ratings. Once it is headed ill have a better idea.

Flax wow is all I have to say. Still, haven't found a nice field that actually has rows from one end to other. It is overall a patchy thin sick looking crop. Not going to be an abundance of Flax.

Lentils and peas are all over the map some guys across the valley have not bad lentils. Peas are hit and miss. I think one thing for peas is certain don't seed peas on ground seeded in the last 8 years as something is going on in the ground. Yes, Viper hurts the crop but something, when we have rain, cold, rain and the heat, turns it ugly. It's growing through it but for one nice field, you have three shitty. Were considering saying that's all folks for peas. This year for us were Two good and Two suck. So average at best or lower.

Barley the crop is starting to fill in nice but we will have a few stages maybe not as bad as some of the other crops but yea the early drought cut yield for sure. Heading is happening real soon and fungicides will go on so maybe malt. HAHAHAH its a crap shoot.

Ok, the pastures are coming to life a bit but some over grazed one arent. Hay crop will be poor for the first cut and newly seeded fields are also so so. The rain came way too late. Feed could be in high demand this winter.

Canola wow I just love how one rain and all is good in canolaville. Well, it isn't Canola still doesn't look good and we're into July. Plus guys who got rain farm progress show week for the first time will finally see a few rows. Explain how that will make a bumper crop. Also, I posted earlier in the week about the shitty Canola seed we have vs the Volunteers. Guys get out in your field and crawl around and tell me I'm wrong. I'm not something is going on with our expensive Canola seed that is subpar at best. On the way home, last night three or four across the valley and one real early seeded on our side are trying to flower. Interesting is all I can say. Yea Like the experts keep talking Canola has more downside for price. Like what the F#$K the market knows jack shit. Its all about getting 9 dollar canola that they can sell for 11 and profit from the Chinese thing. We get an F#$King loan.

Yes, some fields are nice and finally evening out. Seems those seeded after the 15 they have a better chance and the real late also don't look as nice. Spraying is almost done and now it's up to the big guy.

So to wrap the week up. The rain was min for our area with a total of 6mm for the week. Yes, that's Friday sat and Sunday total. Some got lucky and some got none. Hail in some areas also taking crops as its hail season with temps climbing a bit. HAHA, 20 for a high not going to happen. Most guys are done spraying the crop and skinny tires are going on in case but seem a lot has gone fishing. Its easier to look at a nice lake and relax and forget about the shitty crop back home. I'm heading to our southern home in a couple of weeks to see real green grass and rain and hot hot sun.

Ag in motion is coming up in two weeks and it's hard to believe it's on its 5th year. Did hear the demos are not going to happen for tillage as its a cowboy year. Tillage was the reason I went to see how the new shit looks and works. Hopefully, they don't drop the crop plots.

One thing a lot of neighbours are talking about in our area as some of us have been direct seeding or min tillage for almost 40 years. Trash is a problem and is it time to bring back some sort of fall tillage like Manitoba. Just saying we're seeing some shit going on in our ground that doesn't make sense.

HAve a great week and if you have an ugly field I hope the hail gods get you. Be safe and watch out for your neighbours, stress kills.

Sask3 did you read the Western Producer article in which the guy from Viterra is predicting up to a 8 million tonne carryout in Canola for 2019-20, double the prediction by Statscan! Sorry couldn't resist.

Wheat crops look good here, earliest seeded are heading but I would guess we are a week behind where we should be. We had good germ and the crops are thick but a little short. Sprayed fungicide on only one field of back to back CPS wheat so far, watching the weather. Peas look good but as of yesterday were not blooming yet. Roughly up to my knees. Most guys barley crops look good, thick but not in flag as of yet.
Canola is an interesting one, all over the map. Certainly uneven germination with blanks here and there in the rows in some guys fields. Earlier seeded into colder soils appeared to be no advantage and certainly had greater problems with flea beetles. One neighbor had half with lumiderm and half with prosper, flea beetle levels the same in both, one field with lumiderm required additional insecticide, go figure. Anyway our canola is just bolting, the two fields that were hailed earlier are catching up and overall happy with the canola. Al invigor L234 PC and one field L255 PC. Second pass of Liberty was done 4-5 days ago.
Pastures have greened up after the rains and the hay is looking good. My cows are certainly happy right now as am I. Enjoy your day.

Guys didnt hit those $10 bids that were floating around in early May. What were they waiting for. Thats the best case scenario for this crop now that china is out of the market. Farmers are good at growing crops but FFS sometimes they cant read the tea leaves in the market for sht. Seed dealers will get the news this fall.

Cereals are heading..look ok from the road.time will tell how big and how many heads..
Canola for the most part is real ugly.many fields have no sign of plants from the road.
We seeded deeper than most..had lots of frost but crop is decent considering the start.

I seeded grass last year thinking it would catch...went from April27 to June 20th without a rain...

Received 4.5 inches since June 20 on this grass....pulled up a clover plant and couldn't believe the root length...dug with a shovel...after 5.5 inches down its powder dry....

I don’t post often but I enjoy these crop reports every week. I have never had a canola crop like this one. I think it will be average, but I kid you not I am going to have a 5-60 range. I have some beautiful fields, I have some patchy, have some that range from cotyledon to flowering in the same field. Some frozen, flee beetles and cutworms, some untouched. Never seen anything close to this variance.

Canola some good and some patchy and just starting to bolt.
Wheat looks good but will need more rain to fill nice.
Peas have clean leaves and are about knee high and starting to flower.
Alfalfa has nice flowers and looks good and the bees are released but its just so cold the bees don't do anything.

Hard to say how this one will end with the never ending cold and wind. It is taking forever for the wheat heads to emerge and the canola to get to bloom and if it doesn't warm up frost will be a concern.

Wasn't the world suppose to be burning up by now?
