    Check-offs.....

It's that time of year to prepare to claim them back.

I never have asked for a refund but maybe it's time.

Pulse check off is non refundable.

With shitty canola prices and government interference(incompetence) and lack mandatory reporting and commodity groups being fairly silent about most iussues....maybe it's time to ask for it back.

Who asks for it back regularly.
Who might ask for it back this year.
Who wouldn't even consider asking for it back.

Is pulling the money back from plant breeding and R&D such a good idea? But with the looming SeedCo tax I don't know if I care any more.

I have been asking for mine back the last few years. This is due to the utter disregard by these groups for the very members they are supposed to be working for. I have even been told by people working at these groups that I don’t sign their pay check, so they do not have to answer to me. Well then...I will just apply for my check off back then if I do not pay your wage. Funny the false sense of reality these “smart” people live in.

And on a side note, how is a secretary that answers phones and directs calls worth six figures?

I started asking for it back last year. I really don’t feel they are working for me. $9 canola (per bushel for me, per half pound for them) with forced applied seed treatment that does not work, $5 dollar wheat, and tariff issues with India and China on our pulses. It is criminal we can’t get the pulse one back.

People from the checkoffs read this but most seem like they may be illiterate as things never change...

Look at Saskpulse ...they do an unpublicized survey about whether the checkoffs should be refundable then only let a select few know about it and say the results are conclusive....the answer they wanted was probably written into the survey...since most are designed to give the desired outcome....

On the other hand the levies should be a reflection of tonnes sold ...yes / no ??????

Ya know, this thread has me doing the math. Might be good wages for a little paperwork.

Been asking for mine back for years!!!!
Board members having a paid tropical holiday at growers expense, chemical companies having them do the dirty work, all of them advocating that we pay more royalties, just another form of government, tax tax tax!!!!! Nothing left for the grower any more just the crumbs.

                I can't believe I did it but I did.

Until that ****en SeedTax issue is dead and buried, I may continue to ask for the refund of checkoff levy?
