    49 million for ??????

Helping Canadian farmers access new innovations will keep them on the cutting edge of industry developments. 49 million....

The government doesn't realize most farmers of the world are subsidized and still using a hoe....

What cutting edge do Canadian farmers need...

We are growing low value crops ....

    We are losing markets everyday....

Why do companies that have the ability to charge what they want for their new ideas need government money? Why are these guys subsidized?

In Canada, we subsidize the Industry and Screw FArmers.

    Its a rather simple system.

GIve billions to useless companies, grant welfare for life schemes for Seed and chemicals.

Give railways millions to do nothing.

Seed Tax to help keep Seed companies on Welfare for life.

    GIVE FARMERS A F#$KING LOAN>

ILTA got a loan and it won't be paid back...FCC is into them for 93 million last count....

The guys that own it eventually are buying it for nickels if not pennies on the dollar. ...

Now where is FCC going to come looking to balance the books.....

And the guys that are on the creditors list probably were thinking that money was for loans....owed to FCC. ..

I think FCC is into the ILTA mess for over 100 million....

The government always throws in that these announcements help farmers....no they don't...

Elevator consolidation has added million in on farm storage costs to producers...

Railway consolidation added millions in trucking costs...

And they were tearing up elevators and rail lines as production was starting to ramp up...

Someone should do a running total of the announcements that have the words "help for producers" in it and then correlate it to how it actually helps farmers ....

No one ever puts a performance standard on these announcements...

1st. Your full of it on on farm storage costs. I've saved hundreds of thousands in bins myself

2nd. This whole ethanol idea to save the planet, how much has that propped prices without seeing the Treasury.

So if you guys had 100,000t elevators every 80/100kms that you could deliver to and price grain on the day you may or maynot use them? Youd prefer on farm storage?

              Playing devils advocate.

              I have both options.

This farm hauled 4 miles to an elevator for 60 years. I have always believed we HAD the perfect low cost, least highway impact, even low CO2 emissions system. Rail beats trucking on highways in fuel and infrastructure cost. Only barges are cheaper! With greater distances, thousands of super B's were purchased by farmers, adding to their expenses/depreciation/overhead. One benefit was used highway tractors found a new life, and mechanics got more work, tire shops, wow diesel fuel use went up for COOP etc. All costs reduced net farm income added hours of work, sitting in a seat on highway and at elevators. Can't see much positive. Am I out to lunch?

Thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, employed by the trucking industry. All paid for by the consumer. Except for farmers, they pay for themselves.
