On top of all that you can put it on up to 12 hours in advance of any storms coming
You ever been wiped out ?
We have , hail insurance never covers the loss of a crop 90% of the time . Not everyone carries hail either

But whatever, I guess it’s not a big deal

And property damage from hail? Ya everyone comes out ahead there too!

I'll say it again.....Insurance is meant to limit losses, not be profitable.

Then there is the stress and mental anguish which no money can compensate for.

Dealing with dick adjusters. Stressing about what to do with damaged crop. Worrying about paying bills when insurance doesn't cover the crop loss.

Me thinks there are more than one non farmer industry reps making comments here on Agriville disguised as farmers.
It’s bizarre some of the comments that get posted. Obviously from some who have never lost a crop to drought or hail or drowned out crops . Money is real when it comes out of your own pocket and not a monthly pay check . But that seems to be the general attitude in the ag industry the past few years . A lot think farmers have it all and are so protected blah blah blah
Reality is so far from that .
Ilta is a great example. How many Ag industry people can absorb a 25-50% hit in their income like that and be left virtually unprotected. It’s astonishing the ignorance at times

You only need one company to stick it to you to sour your taste for hail insurance. Not all companies are equal. The ones with the retired school teachers take the cake!

Industry reps, paid posters, political losers, and just plain ass holes! Yep they don’t want the truth about ag to be heard by the public.

Once again there is a significant difference in payouts between hail insurance companies this year.

Sure wish we had been "fully insurable" last year when we got badly hailed - when you have decent pasture for your cattle then 20 minutes later it's gone. Barely grew anything for the rest of the season it was so dry. No way to insure against that as far as I know, it's just tough luck. Find and pay for somewhere else to graze the cattle and start looking for feed in a horrendously expensive market.

Farm more then the both of you combined. Have had more hail in the last 5 years then you can imagine. I will carry up to $500 an acre in hail insurance as the crop value gets up there. My premiums aren’t crazY high like I said in my comment if your premiums aren’t crazy high. I’ve alway come out ahead in adjusting. So what you spend 2 days adjusting. Then you use AFSC adjustment with Ag direct. Just another mouth price I guess. Better then coffee shop farmers on here that are know it alls

Not really sure why lots of you guys on here get so pissy with each other, I for one like to here other opinions even if they differ from mine. ( other than the couple of posters that just cant let go of there quest for righteousness)

And I find it hilarious that you guys use the non-farmer insult. The rest of the world would think it is an insult to call someone a farmer.

                            Anyhow, carry on, lol.

Who the **** cares who farms how much, I never saw this forum to be huge sick swinging contest.
I've self deprecated myself on this site but would never judge or belittle someone else based on farm size, machinery or land type. I might ride Saskfarmer about his green paint addiction but it's just immature fun.

Yours truly, an inconsequential sandbox farmer from the Slum of the Ghetto.

Humility will carry you a long ways after arrogance has failed you.

It goes to credibility. Both if them attacked my comments calling me a mouth piece and calling me out that I do some farm politics on my own dime. So ya it does matter what you farm sometimes
