Claas has made some major inroads into Western Canada.....You don't see many lexions at JD dealers and if you do they are not there long....

Now go look at the Lexions lots ...full of others....

Mentioned that to a deere dealer....he said ..."Yeah we don't know what they are going to do with all those deere combines"....uh uh...you sort of missed the point....every Deere combine a Lexion dealer represents a lost sale....

Deere will be buying the Lexions eventually once they realize the market share they are losing....might be tough to get them back though...lower fuel consumption and the shops say maintenance wise they are like the Maytag repairman of old.....

They try talking me into buying a newer one every year...

She's got AM/FM/CD, air ride seat, good A/C, autosteer, mostly new internals, trashes a nice clean sample, and gets over the STO acreage we run... I aint paying 6 figures for yield and moisture, and a machine that is still going to need wrenching.

Im bad for business as far as machinery sales are concerned. When equipment comes into this yard, it's like signing a marriage contract. Till death do us part.

Did you guys read the actual Q2 report, the sales are way down but the actual profit is barely down from 2018 and they bragged how they made it up on on high profit Parts and Service work. Also profit per sale increased.
Not sticking up for them, I have never bought anything from them, was just curious. And you are right, the massive palace’s they feel they have to operate out of is a major turn off.

Profit was down from 6.6M to 750000 so that is a significant fall but I am sure that parts margin was up. They took a huge hit to revenue and still managed a profit. Gotta love the ag parts business.

Kinda of the same but different, two days ago Nutrien shares were up 8.2% on increased Q2 revenue even though the spring plant in the US was difficult with not all acres being sowed. So you know were the increased revenue came from, all of us. well not me I don't deal with Nutrien.

Fair enough, I was referring to Gross Profit being only $9M less despite $109M less in sales revenue.

Dealership don’t screw me. I buy used and get all my parts from across the line and we have some good mechanics around here. Lots good machines on different sites.

I would say the equipment fire sale is just starting. Next year should be an event if crop prices stay where they are.

Sounds like the Petrowest story in the oilpatch not too long ago, buying up many construction and trucking companies, then went tits up not too many years later.

Why the resentment for someone who has had a successful 4th generation farm with a full time working wife ????
That is an underlying issue with some .
                        I don’t understand that .

                          A. Sask opens himself up to it so likes it
                          B. Grass allows himself to think that way. Basic resentment for those better off. Socialist stuff.

As someone with a successful 8th generation farm business my only "resentment" is the disservice this poster's contributions make to those who are genuinely suffering hardship on the farm whether it's due to low commodity prices or a weather disaster. Half the time boasting about the new toys, the holidays, how great his crops are and the other half crying that he has no money, needs a handout and is going to have to quit farming it's so bad.
I have every sympathy for real farmers and real hardship. If we are to believe that these pages are read by politicians or people in positions of power his contributions do a great disservice to the average farmer as they lead to the assumption that all farmers are like this.

the last parts on my newer tracked tractor had to come from europe. none in N america. Wasnt there a law years back that enforced manufactures to provide parts/service in a certain number of days? its ridiculous, 700k for a tractor or combine, you put 150 hours on it, and next season no one has parts available. god, farmers are stupid.
