Look in your own backyard. How many plus 30deg days did the prairies get this year? Less than half their usual. Today is the last 30 deg day of the season, all mid to low 20s after that. we had a -9 frost on about may 10th this yr. There is a major cooling trend setting up for the middle of NA this fall.
I have no idea if there is a long term cooling trend setting up but some scientists are saying watch the solar minimum combined with el nino and el nina.

We have had more cool nights since May than any other time I remember is my 30 some years of farming .
-5 just north of here June 8th I think it was
July 1st was only 2 deg
We will see what August brings
Water temperature in the local lakes up till the past few days was 5 Deg cooler than normal, hence why the fish were biting very well .
Signs are there , maybe not total cooling but certainly not warming to a climate emergency
Or simply as many of us believe, typical weather fluctuations, as has happened for a millenniumLast edited by furrowtickler; Aug 3, 2019, 07:57.

What is it you are all scared of to do with climate warming ? Where do you get your info if not from news, unless like jazz says look at your fences, dont need to look farther. I can see your argument about glyco because you couldnt farm the way you do without it ,but if others want to believe in climate change why does that get your shit in a knot ??

I support everyone's freedom of religion.
However, My freedom from religion is infringed upon when I am compelled to pay for someone else's religious belief. We are all expected to sacrifice our standard of living and industries in the name of someone else's religion.
I believe in the easter Bunny, does that mean I should force Chuck to sponsor hiding my Easter eggs every year?Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Aug 3, 2019, 10:03.

Unfortunately climate science is razor thin and dosed with an strong undercurrent of socialism. Therefore I reject. The hypocrite politicians make it even easier to cast doubt.

It’s the fact that it’s being pushed down everyone’s throats and digging into our wallets...... that’s the problem... hello 👋

May was especially cooler than normal in large parts of NW north America. And it it was really rainy in many parts of the midwest.
But look at the rest of the global maps from April through June. It looks like many areas of land and ocean were well above normal compared with 1981-2010 base period.
That is why it is important to have many years of data from all over the globe before you draw conclusions. What is happening in your neck of the woods at any particular time or place is not representative of global conditions.
NOAA says there is no global cooling occurring. On the contrary there is global warming. But within that global trend there is still room for some regions to experience below average temperatures. Which some parts of the prairies experienced during April to June 2019.
You can look at years of global maps here:

The other gave up completely due to unseasonal ice cover, and suffered damage from attempting to break through.
Now, obviously this anecdotal evidence is not proof of anything either way, but what makes it interesting is the comments of the scientists on board whose job it was to point out to the high paying touriststhe catastrophic effects global warming is having on the arctic.
Cognitive dissonance does not even begin to describe their reactions. A common theme to all religious beliefs.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Aug 3, 2019, 11:12.
