May was especially cooler than normal in large parts of NW north America. And it it was really rainy in many parts of the midwest.
But look at the rest of the global maps from April through June. It looks like many areas of land and ocean were well above normal compared with 1981-2010 base period.
That is why it is important to have many years of data from all over the globe before you draw conclusions. What is happening in your neck of the woods at any particular time or place is not representative of global conditions.
NOAA says there is no global cooling occurring. On the contrary there is global warming. But within that global trend there is still room for some regions to experience below average temperatures. Which some parts of the prairies experienced during April to June 2019.
You can look at years of global maps here:

The other gave up completely due to unseasonal ice cover, and suffered damage from attempting to break through.
Now, obviously this anecdotal evidence is not proof of anything either way, but what makes it interesting is the comments of the scientists on board whose job it was to point out to the high paying touriststhe catastrophic effects global warming is having on the arctic.
Cognitive dissonance does not even begin to describe their reactions. A common theme to all religious beliefs.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Aug 3, 2019, 11:12.

Basically like all climate data, its non definitive and no where near accurate enough to base policy on. I suggest more study on the scientists own dime.Last edited by jazz; Aug 3, 2019, 11:49.

Do you wonder why its the Arctic is always the place that is warming faster than anywhere? They are trying to sell a lie to the masses. No one from the most populated places will ever go to the Arctic so they just have to paint a picture for the masses to believe in there imagination. Its is easy when its so far away and so far removed from where anyone lives. That Norwegian ice breaker headed up there believing the ice was all gone and found himself stuck in heavy multi year ice.
The same tactic the snake oil sales men would use when they drove in your yard up here in NE Sask. They will tell you about their product then tell you how every one in Southern Alberta is using their product and you see the crops that they grow there!!! They new the chances that i would have talked to anyone from that area to verify there claims or if i had ever traveled to that area was almost nil so they paint a picture in my imagination about how nice everything is if you use their product.
