    US Beef

Canada loses another market. Thought we just signed that CETA deal and they love Justin over there cause he is so dreamy. Guess the Europeans don't respect funny socks after all.

What a fing joke our country is. We have blown up or lost every reliable trade partner because we cant get our shit together and our leader would rather visit gay bars and pride parades than shore up our economy.

CETA doesn't mean anything for Canada anyways. All it is doing is creating a trade surplus for EU. BNN reported that EU exports have risen 60% to Canada this past year, while the other way is stagnant.

Might be good for US to get involved. They won't roll over like Canada if the trade doesn't balance.

Guess you don't know anything about beef exports to Europe either Jazz. The fact there have been unfilled tariff-free quotas into the EU for the last decade which neither Cdn or US suppliers had any interest in filling. This is not going to open any doors for beef off hormone implanted cattle. Quantities shipped won't increase until the carcass wash situation is resolved - the washes used in North America are not permitted under EU law. In short this announcement is grandstanding bullshit - much the same as when Ritz flew around the world and announced all the new markets he had opened. It's meaningless in the real world of trade. The decisions where Cdn beef goes is decided in Dakota Dunes and Sao Paulo, nothing to do with the Canadian or American Governments, or cattle producers in either country.
