Geese go away for a while. We get flocks of 100-150 turkeys at a time here and they settle in for good.

I prefer turkey but they’re both tasty.

I'm quite happy to have a few around - this is the first time they have settled on the farm and bred here. It gives us a ready supply of free Christmas lunches. I know a guy that has 200 winter in his corrals every year - he pail feeds his calves and by the time he has pailed it all out into the troughs the turkeys have eaten about half of it before the calves ever get let into the troughs! It's not going to go that way on my place! - we have enough trouble with elk eating our cattle feed already.

Puts me in mind of the old joke ......

“If Russia attacked Turkey form the rear do you think Greece would help ?”
