Caraway and Barley are off.
Annual ryegrass has been down and was almost ready before the last 7 days of on and off rain. Most likely ruined now with no long enough window for it to come off in sight.
Canola will begin to be swathed in the next few days.

Holy F, what planet are you guys farming on. Here like 2% of lentils off, chicks green, no wheat, no canola swathed. There wont be full on harvest here for 2-3 weeks yet.

If Austrada doesn't like glyphosate wonder if he doesn't mind the entire country get done in reglone.

Barley done, started on oats, canola that was to be swathed is swathed. Soybeans finally starting to yellow a bit. Over 2 inches of rain in the past week has slowed harvest down. A little over 25% done.

Reglone can't be used in cereals and its almost too late for it to work on anything now....

Lentils have been sprayed for 7 days and they may still not go....

Nice looking peas. 1.6 bushels per acre of seed very interesting. Our peas looked really good early on, we're 4 feet tall lots of pods. Rain and wind flattened them, now they are a leaf disease covered mat. Finally in the last few days they are starting to ripe, hope to spray them by the weekend. What variety furrow?

It's been slow and painful.

3.5 weeks and I should hopefully finally finish peas today except fir a couple low spots i seeded later.

Cereals "look" ready, but neighbor keeps poking a header into them and can't get a number below 17.5Mx.

Cool, cloudy, and moist makes for VERY short harvest days!

Some guys here by Edmonton have started into the peas and barley, some canola is being swathed, not gonna be in full swing for 2 weeks yet.

Peas seeded with Horsch planter at 225,000 seeds /ac . Worked out to 1.6 bus/ac .
Very happy with stand ability, yield and no disease .
Peas seeded with our drill at 3 bus /ac had disease in all low areas and went flat.
Planter outyielding the drill by about 5 bus/ac so far.
About an extra bus /ac per inch of rain . Simply a healthier plant .

Any difference in the fields, seeding dates, fert, spraying, etc? Or is it simply thinner stand = less disease? What row spacing? See more weeds in the planter fields?

Around Regina, lots of dead-ripe lentils are standing, maybe shelling with every shower. We combined 320 acres of lentils last week but nothing moving since last Friday. Durum looks ripe but needs warm weather, big time. Canola grass green. Airplanes are in the air around here because ground sprayers and muddy fields - well you know the result.

But, do you remember the neighbour I told you about who flip-flops lentils and canaryseed, burning canary stubbles black in spring. He’s the only one with a lot of his #1 lentils in the bin and all his canary swathed. First bit of harvest weather and he’s rolling. Annually his crew is often putting the combines away by labour day but not this year.

almost all cereals done here. moving into canola now. behind last year, but in decent shape. most surprised by yields again. better than expected.

Harvest?? What’s that? Still doing first around here. Baling grass that was cut a week ago and it’s testing 19-25% so it’s getting wrapped. The forecast was no rain when it was cut but has three showers on it and more forecast tonight. Hope to get it baled today but already one baler died. Murphy has taken up residence here. I’ll be happy if the combine starts rolling within a month. Nothing even close in the neighbourhood.

Just put duals on the 4440 baler tractor as it’s sinking in and bunching up hay underneath it even with swather canvas from the nose to the drawbar pin. Normally loaded tandems haul silage and there’s still standing water. Fun times🍀
