I know this is a crop report, but for this weekend I will be watching my Cameras down south till the power goes out. Maybe add a generator this winter. All you can do is wait and hunker down. Neighbours have put our trash cans in Garage. All ornaments etc. are put away. The biggest threat is flying debris in the wind and this mornings weather forecast called for 100mph swath turning winds starting this weekend on Sunday. The storm is to hit our area around 2 Pm, but I think it will miss and hit East of Orlando. Keep safe my Floridian neighbours.

Ok, this weeks crop report is a little different since I have been on the road for a family function up North in Edmonton. The only area I didn't travel this summer was Manitoba. I did go down to Calgary and home one the number 1.

If it doesn't freeze for two to three weeks, Canada will produce an average crop. You cant make lemonade out of sour g****s. This crop is late and delayed big time. Some areas have wow what a crop others have Wow what a crap. Late third and fourth stage canola crops look nice but need a month as most are just coming out of flowering. So the reality is if frost hits in the next three weeks this number will drop. If it hits next week, it will be big-time drop on Canola and downgrade on Cereals. Don't let the experts who never get out and walk fields just yap tell you its a bin buster.

Now, will the Hurricane change our weather pattern? It some times does.

HRS is in the final stage, and green spots are starting to turn now. We have harvest managed some fields but decided to leave another week. Yesterday was supposed to start full harvest management plus, but it rained from 10 till 3. So total for the year just over 11 inches. We are now wet. The Trencher was doing work on the sand ridge and digging in lines for bins and had moisture all way down three feet. We are back too full moisture again. The 2020 crop should start better.
Most are holding off swathing due to our recent rain events. Geese are starting to show up.

Peas are all ready to harvest, and we need the weather window to open up just a crack. Yield could be ok at about half and a slight drop in two fields. The rule should be peas every eight years as the ground has shit happening in high long term pea grower fields. You can see from air-ground or underground.

Lentils are all off from Regina to Valley and north maybe the odd field. No one is saying how they did.

Flax is the one crop that is not having a great year. From one end of western Canada to others. Dirty sick, thin-looking fields and oh one here and there okay. Nothing exceptional this year.

Barley is ready to almost ready to swath in our area. We need a five day to 7 window, and it will be in the bin. Yield will be close to last years record, but these rains are not helping with malt. Feed yields are good also. From what I see in my travels, the one crop that had a good yield potential year is barley.

Canola the crop we pay so much for seed and spend like drunken sailors on is having the most significant challenge. To the guy by Maidstone swathing maybe get out and open some pods because I think the green areas will not have much when you finally get to combine. This year sell the swather adds are almost done. The only way to effectively get uneven fields to dry down nice is swath at last possible minute. With damp conditions and colder weather, the stock will still send moisture to the seeds to finish. Heat and roundup will burn the ****er down fast, and lots will go out the back. It is an uneven dirty crop that might have some frost damage. Bins will be going up all winter if not watched with this one. So some took the challenge, and didn't sell in June are now cleaning up bins. Yea empty is the word of the day. Big and small sell it all — cash flow.

The crop is all over the map, but I have only seen from Farm to Regina to Edmonton five half-sections Swath and none sprayed. That tells you how late this crop is since September one is right around the corner.

Pastures are looking good for those who manage very well. Over grazed are not. Second cut hay is quite lovely but some might not touch as feed isn't a big problem now. Green feed crop is excellent. Lots are looking for straw for bales.

So overall we still need a couple of weeks of warm weather to get this one close to a finish. Rain could stop, but the other night I think we were saved because of the rain on the weekend. It cleared out; temp dropped very fast then fog formed and up a little it went.

Harvest 2019 is taking its time to get going. Maybe the hurricane down south will straighten out our weather. Climate change and warming guys can go **** themselves. Edmonton city council you're a bunch of morons. The air was clean and crisp and healthy. Compared to Toronto last month. It's all the worlds biggest con job.

On a political story. I love the liberals they remind me of a kid I went to school with way way back he was a bad little ****er and liked to cause problems. I remember him hitting the poor guy in front of him on the back of the head. The teacher was watching as the kid screamed ouch that hurt. The teacher gave the kid shit, and he turned to her with a straight face and said I didn't touch him; he is making up stuff. But see back then the teacher could do something and smacked the little ****er back just as hard. Today they would both need therapy the picked-on kid could attend classes and all would hold hands and sing. **** we live in a ****ed up the place.

Trudeau tells tales all day long the media which is paid for bobs there heads up and down and agrees with him the unions are spending millions to make Andrew look bad. What else could go on to let the liberals win again?

WAKE UP ONTARIO AND QUEBEC TRUDEAU AND RALPH MUST BE WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE ELECTION MAP.

Oh, this just out RBC thinks with the right people and innovation, and if demand keeps up, we will top 51 billion instead of 31 by 2030.

I love cheerleaders and hope the farmers share more than .02 cents.

Ag more than ever. one day it will be more profitable for industry.

Not one word in that article about farmers making more money....it was about suppliers making more for the economy. ....that report was written by someone who thinks they can run a farm like a video game from the basement. ...

        Pure stupidity. ...

and so is giving Norbert 5 million....

Oh, a oats processor got a free interest free 1.8 million dollars loan to build a new facility in the Regina area. Last time I checked I pay prime on my loans plus a bit.

          What about the primary producer.

Now we're going to get a ****ing seed tax.

And they give us a ****ing loan for trade problems industry, and the gov of Canada created.

          Ag more than ever.

What are you complaining about. Trudeau and company has given you a huge tax reduction for the next 3 or 4 years you should be grateful. No profit no income tax, you just gotta make lemonade out of those lemons!

My accountant is on stand by for skippy. The moment he is re-elected we are selling all land to our corporation and crystalizing our CG. F him.

Any other competent leader would be pandering to the GDP leaders in this country like oil and ag, not LBQT.

It's a good idea now. One wouldn't think there would be much more capital gain for a while (generation).
Beware AMT although recoverable over the next 7 years from taxable income, may be a good way to get cash out of am RRSP.
